He very much seems to be the trusted lieutenant!

I've just noticed some flowers above Rosie's head just outside the door of the house...are they sunflowers?Rosie_titters wrote:Norfolk_Gooner1 wrote:Rosie

Not sure it's fair to totally define the guy's capacity to be a good manager just on what he did in those two jobs. It was hardly great conditions in which to start off his managerial career as both were far from stable clubs when he was in charge. Maybe with time and better players at his disposal - and no matter how shite we may be, we can definitely offer him that - he would have more success?Percy Dalton wrote:MM99 wrote:Quite the contrary. The man is a legend as a player but his managerial 'career' has seen him fail time and again and frankly the man now seems as mad as a box of frogs.
I am sure Adams would instill some of the Arsenal traditions into the players that have been lost over recent years but can you really see Tony Adams taking the club forward?

I am sure he had decent plans at Portsmouth and Wycombe too and also appeared very knowledgeable in the written press.
Didn't do him a lot of good though hey!

I do however agree that he could at the very least be an asset as a number 2 and perhaps do a similar job to the he did as Harry's assistant/defensive coach at Pompey.
I'm not sure you can compare the situation of Arsenal, if Arsene was to get sacked, with that of Pompey's. Pompey faced administration and a real threat of being relegated and uncertainty about it's future. Arsenal couldn't be further away from that.Percy Dalton wrote:I Hate Hleb wrote:Not sure it's fair to totally define the guy's capacity to be a good manager just on what he did in those two jobs. I understand what you are saying Hlebby but you can counter that by saying if Weger was to be sacked whilst all this takeover nonsense is going on Arsenal could not be called a stable club either.
I would also say that while yes he would be working with vastly superior players he would also be working in a vaster superior league.
Sorry, but for me Adams is a complete no go!
Maybe his refusal to attend the last game at Highbury influences my thoughts slightly but I am sorry Adams in charge would be madness!
He did not refuse to attend.Norfolk_Gooner1 wrote:I was very surprised he wasn't there, you say he refused.Percy Dalton wrote:

Any more background on that?
