Santos out for three months

At least Djourou and Tommy will stay back more. But I'm not happy about it, why does Wenger insist on risking players like Santos or Wilshere like that? Surely erring on the side of caution makes so much more sense? :banghead:

We've got a Left Back in the reserves called Jernade Meade. Saw him at Underhill once. He can't be taller than 5 foot 4.

Get him in the team!

Why is Djourou still at the club? He is counted in the same bracket at Cygan and Stephanovs for me. If Wenger refuses to spend in Jan which I expect he will refuse, then we better get used to Djourou playing right back until Jenks is fit again.

Ah well least Santos got injured in a vital game eh? Errrr.
At least we got Djourou backup! How was Arsene to know Gibbs would be made of balsa wood?
Arsene Knows

Key injury one already. This script seems eerily familiar. Pick up some good form, go on a great wee run pre-Xmas, tails up, confidence higher and chance to really push on with a statement in the Jan window with stacks of cash in the bank....now how does this one end again??

Thank you! Finally!

I've been saying this since after the Chelsea game. We're on a great run but we are NOT good enough, and we have seen these runs before, from past experience it still looks to me like we are going to fail...

...think outside of Babatunde and the lot I go to footy with off here, only DB10 and Augie have been saying that!

I'll answer that one - not difficult really given past history. It starts with countless rumours of signing "super quality" like Goetze or Hazard but the prices become "dizzying" and we sign the latest whizzkid from Valenciennes instead and perhaps a 35 year old loanee

1 day after the window slams shut, Chesney and RvP get injured leaving us with the dynamic duo of Fabianski and Chamakh at either end of the field. Wilshere, Vermaelen, Walcott and Santos all get recurring injuries....so we end up where we always end up.......with comments about "its hard to take, because we were very close", then Chief Chump Gazidis persuades the sheep once more that there will be a "busy window" come July/August, everyone renews their season tickets........repeat formula until 2014

Meanwhile the reserves look fantastic again come late July, beating the best Austrian 4th division side by eight clear goals

no sir, we've all been saying that there's no squad depth and that if we do not strengthen in january we'll fall short once again. every single one of us agree on that, except red member and co. look again.

however we do so without resorting to personal abuse and the extreme and ridiculous need of being in the centre of all attentions, and maybe that's why babatunde's opinion stands out to you. i don't need to call anyone a deluded *word censored* to make my thoughts go through. g88ner, for example is a *word censored*. ops, no sorry, i lost my point here   what i meant was - g88ner is one who also agrees with that point, but does so respectfully, maybe you didn't spot him too

it's been said here everyday that if we do not buy a striker for example, when RvP gets injured we're fucked, same with szczesny, sagna, etc. the positive point we're trying to make is that now it seems we have a decent looking squad with a decent attitude. that's still a long way from the arsenal we all want.

Most people on here know the score by now with reagrds to our prospects. i think it would take 5th place for things to change though.

We have been somewhat lucky that both Chelsea and the Scousers are "in transition" because if they had gotten their act together we could have been in big trouble.

TV played better at LB against Everton than Santos has done in all his games. Shouldn't be that big of an impact on the squad.

Every year it's the same thing, under prepare in the Summer, suffer in the winter.
How long will he stay fit before he gets injured again.

Sagnas return would be more important at the moment for Arsenal.

you think? i thought he looked very unwilling to overlap... which when winning 0-1 away from home in a tight game is fine, but at home at 0-0 when both our wingers were looking very isolated every time they got the ball, i really expected more attacking wise (but not from djourou, obviously)
