Fabregas or van Persie.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ignore van Persie's injury record, Cesc wasn't exactly durable.

Who was the better talisman, the better captain, the better influence on the side, the better matchwinner?

pointless question + 1

Anyway, RVP has completely put the mockers on it now!

Cesc easily. Those who say the cliche of "Cesc struggles to get in the Barca team" or "he plays second fiddle to Xavi and Iniesta".....have you watch Barca this year? Fabregas is the second best player on that team behind Messi.

I love RVP but as someone else said, strikers are common. Creative players like Fabregas are not.

I'd rather have RVP. He seems to be more of an Arsenal man and seems to be genuinely honoured to be representing the club.

As to the argument that strikers are more common, perhaps so - but a striker that scores 35 in a calendar year, which is second only to Alan Shearer's record, certainly isn't common. If it were, surely the likes of Yakubu and Chamakh would be doing it too?

Top strikers are so common, that the likes of Carroll and Torres fetch more then £30mil...

Not saying I don't appreciate RVP, but @ arsenal we create chances. A huge amount thats why I get fustrated watching the likes of Bendtner wasting everything.

Ade scored 30 goals...why? how?.. cause of cesc innit.

Well that weight must be quite heavy as he's carrying Rambo,Arteta,Gervinho and that useless Englishman in Arsenal.

They should all be scoring more than they are.

still a pointless question, you should of asked this 2 seasons ago - not when Cesc had walked out on the club and RVP is in the form of his life and by the way fabregas is a much better player

Pointless reply from a pointless poster, the obvious comparison is their contribution as captain and leader, keep up, if it was asked two years ago then we wouldn't have known about how van Persie coped with the job.

I appreciate your attempt at kissing up to OneBard though.

Fabregas is a better captain as well, and keep your insults too your self - we have enough cyber hardmen already on here
