Fabregas or van Persie.

Fabregas or van Persie.

Post by Gunnersaurus »

If you could pick one, who would you rather have?

Ignore van Persie's injury record, Cesc wasn't exactly durable.

Who was the better talisman, the better captain, the better influence on the side, the better matchwinner?

Really? Why?

I love the fact that van Persie gets the team lining up in the middle for a wave before kick off, to me that is a true leader and someone that understands this club, Robin is proving to be a proper leader not someone that goes to the F1 when his team is playing.

Fabregas is a better player for one. Forget his last season. He drove that team on for 2-3 seasons. He made the team tick. He scored crucial goals in crucial high-profile games. We won't see a better player playing for Arsenal for years to come.

Arsenal have been standing in the middle and waving to the fans before a game for the last 25 years, rvp hasnt just started doing that ...

I must have been blind then because I never saw that in Cesc's reign hence the point about it coming back under van Persie, right or wrong?

Frank, fair enough, I ain't here to tell you that you are wrong, for me, right now, van Persie is up there with the best in the world, I don't think he is beneath Fabregas nor is his contribution.

Fair enough, but Van Persie is not as good as Fabregas even in his present form.

Debatable Frank, right now he is arguably the best striker in the world, Cesc has always been class but he's always been second fiddle to Xavi and Iniesta.

It's RVP.

Cesc is a traitor who doesn't love us anymore, where Van Persie's farts smell like perfume (not being one-eyed or anything!)

Talisman - even
Captain - RVP
Influence on the side - Cesc
Matchwinner - even

Injury free-RvP always

What's the point of a playmaker without a top striker to score the goals.

Cesc was amazing but we couldn't do without a 20-30 goal a season man.

Different players in different positions.

Cesc was definitely one of if not the best creative midfielder this club has ever seen but then Van Persie is the most intelligent striker since Bergkamp. Any striker looking to learn how to make runs and create angles need only watch rvp, to score the goals he does in the modern game without much pace is nothing short of remarkable.

Strikers grow on trees, but strikers who understand the game as well as Van Persie does are very rare indeed.

Im sitting on the fence on this one 8)
