TeeCee - mean they are not good enough to finish 4th - ie what Wenger, Gazidis etc believes to be a successful season. Goes without saying we haven't been contenders for several years now.TeeCee wrote:It's been that way for years mate and Wenger has insisted that the squad is good enough to WIN the league!
The whole thing is a farce under Wenger, a truly awful manager.
When we finish fifth (or maybe sixth)............

It has been blindingly obvious and i think that is the most frustrating thing. Although, without trying to turn the thread to a pro/post Wenger debate like all the others I do believe that Gazidis needs to be held accountable for a lot more than he does at the moment.
I am not sticking up for AW as some mistakes are clearly his and he is a factor, esp with regards to selection etc but I do believe that his hands are tied some what by the man who is in charge of the finances at the club. I still see the real decline as being since 2007 when David Dein left. Gazidis I believe is the real cancer at the club who instigates and defends the ticket prices, self sustaining model, and assures the fans there is money to spend but very rarely stating how much (putting pressure on the manager). All the while it is him that deals with transfer negotiations and contracts and, I am sure I saw somewhere, was the reason that deals such as the Juan Mata transfer fell through due too his penny pinching over the wages. Isnt it also him who negotiates contract extentions, some at ridiculous amount - albeit at the recomendation of AW?
I think that if we were to finish outside the top 4 then IG should be the one to go first and foremost and then if things still arent turned around then AW should follow - but as stated overall i think the whole club needs a refresh from playing and coaching staff right up to the monkeys that make the decions off the pitch.

if he isnt good enough for us, then its irrelevant how good he is anywhere else. by 'the rest of them' being worse that Wenger, do you mean Moyes, Fergie, Twichy, and Mancini? because i'd take these guys over Wenger any day of the weak, and that's just out of the managers in the Premier League.barnetgooner wrote:1989 wrote:There is evidence to suggest Wenger is indeed an awful manager.
Not that i'm saying it's good enough for Arsenal, but he's still in the top 5 managers in the PL, so if he's awful then the rest of them are even worse.
