Song can be a squad player but I cannot see how he can be first choice next season, is too defensively suspect and loses possession too often.

If we stick with the current formation then I would hope Wilshere and Arteta line up next to each other with Rosicky in front, and Coquelin would actually be my first backup player for Wilshere or Arteta.

As a long term critic of song there is nobody (and I include diaby in that) that I hate more in this current squad For me he sums up the average level of this team and I despise the fact that he is seen by the CIC (change the word Goon in GIC and you will know what I saying) as first choice nowadays. It really is a sign of how desperate some fans have become that they cling to this guy like he is a major player for us - not alone is he no PV4 but he is no petit, edu, bert, romford pele, kev richardson or steve williams

pfft, tell me you seriously believe overated shite like Brady and Viera are even CLOSE to Songdorf, go on, have a go.
Whenever I see Song bucaneering through the opposition half, majesticly controlling the ball as he looks up to place a chipped ball through for the corner flag I am reminded of Platini. The effortless guile, his work-horse like attitude and his deliciously avante-garde haircut. It's a package to savour .

You have to wonder if these people actually pay any attention to our games or just listen to the likes of Jamie Redknapp who have assumed Song to be a defensive midfielder because he's the big black bloke in Arsenal's midfield. He had a brief period in 09/10 (i think) where he seemed to be playing this role but since then he has been playing everywhere and nowhere, largely because the moron being paid 7m a year wont tell him where to play.

I'm glad this forum is back up because being over on that AFC forum where everyone raves over "Songinho" was painful at times.
