Alex Song - 200 games for Arsenal

Can you think of a worse midfield player to have achieved that for the club? :rubchin: :rubchin:

Eboue made 214 and is technically a midfielder :rubchin:

Same goes for Walcott on 218. 218 APPEARANCES! That astounds me

Define "midfield player" please....

But no, I cannot think of a worse midfielder to hit 200 games. Comedy Eboue made most of his "appearances" as a right back or a sub or just plain comic relief. But Song is a first choice starter every game; that's what I cannot believe.

Theo? God knows. Sublime one minute, absolute pile of shite the next.

But back to Song! He is not good enough. Too slow, gives away posession cheaply, gives away silly cheap free kicks, gives no cover to the CH's, is clumsy on the ball, gets caught square on at the half way line too often, creates problems for himself and those around him when under no real pressure.

Some people seem to only see the odd good ball into RVP or the "recovery" bit that he sometimes does and think "wow he is good". You know, the "recovery" bit where he lunges in after an oppo player that has just piss-easy disposessed Song of the ball totally because Song took too long on it? Yeah, that bit. As for the RVP passes? He gets most of those wrong. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. A couple of decent assists every 4 or 5 games doesn't make Song quality.

The good DM's seldom get themselves into that position of having to try a desperate lunge to recover. They anticipate, not just try to react. Worst thing is, most of Song's desperate recovery lunges don't actually achieve anything other than giving away a stupid needless free kick.

I don't hate Song the way I hated the diving cheating Comedy Eboue but I really want Song replaced with a good DM (not even a top DM) because Song is an average footballer at best and a poor DM.

I am with DB10 in my admiration for Sheepshead Song. I'd accept him as a second or third back-up midfielder but he is woefully below the level needed for a top six club and I've seen no signs of any improvement and whereas Ramsey, for example, contributes very little, Song actually causes problems for the team. We have got to get somebody better.

He's a dangerous player to have on the pitch. He gives away possession, he exposes the defence, he doesn't learn and 200 games in he should be better than he is. IMO replacing him is our number 1 priority this summer.

As a long term critic of song there is nobody (and I include diaby in that) that I hate more in this current squad  For me he sums up the average level of this team and I despise the fact that he is seen by the CIC (change the word Goon in GIC and you will know what I saying) as first choice nowadays. It really is a sign of how desperate some fans have become that they cling to this guy like he is a major player for us - not alone is he no PV4 but he is no petit, edu, bert, romford pele, kev richardson or steve williams

Ah, yes... Frimpong. The very same Frimpong whose sum total contribution to modern culture is the fantastically dumb catchphrase "Dench" which is so happening and catchy that it is only used by him and one or two of his arsekissing mates. The same Frimpong that publicly stated on Soccer AM that he was, and I quote, "Soft with the ladies but hard with the men" and totally failed to see the pissripping humour in what he had just blurted out.

Good old Comedy Frimpong. The new Comedy Eboue.

Yeah - I know he might actually become a great player but he is thicker than shite. :D

200 games eh? So that'll be more games than brain cells then.
Know what, I look at players like Song and Santos and genuinely can't believe that I pay £985 per season to watch 'quality' like that, you know, the sort of quality that made the move to The Emirates a chance to compete with the best in Europe.
Wenger is an intelligent man so surely he can see what we see.......can't he? :banghead:

Why am i not surprised.Frimpong is Song lite. Both fucking headless chickens. If Song played for another club we would be laughing at him.200 games more evidence that Wenger has lost it as if we needed any more
