maybe that's why nothing's been announced, he might've signed on the specific condition we make champions' league (and maybe out of respect for the club he currently plays for!)rodders999 wrote:nexum5me wrote:there's no way on this planet he'll go in the summer unless he has a heart attack or something. and if the media are to be believed and we really have already signed Podolski, do you really think he would come unless he'd been assured nothing's gonna change in terms of manager between now and next season?
I would be amazed if a player the caliber of Podolski has signed without first seeing if we are going to be in the Champs. League. If he has signed I hope he hasn't made any plans for Thursday nights

The past few months have been pure torture and I really can't stand to watch another minute of this pathetic Arsenal team or hear another word from that sad and deluded manager!!

This.
Normally I hate the close season but in the last few years I have welcomed it and will do again this year. Fuck knows groundhog day will be upon us again soon enough next August.

Just in case you didn't mean that last comment and are having withdrawal symptoms in the Summer, I'll leave you with this thought. If we scrape 4th you can expect the following end of season commentsI Hate Hleb wrote:It's been over in my mind since September!!![]()

"Overall, I believe that we showed a remarkable consistency and spirit to come back from a bad start. There is a great potential in this team. We have qualified for the Champions League for 14 seasons in a row which shows great consistency. We will look to add one, or maybe two, experienced players in the Summer but the answer is not always to buy. Look at Liverpool and Chelsea; they spent millions of pounds but did not qualify. We will stay true to our values and overall I believe that this team is very close. People forget that we lost Wilshere, Diaby and Frimpong for almost the whole season and were very unfortunate with other injuries too. We will come back stronger next season I am convinced of that. Van Persie is not for sale"
Or translated into everyday speak
"Thankfully Chelsea made a total fucking balls up appointing a paper boy as their manager and because of that we were able to excuse our worst start in 58 years to creep into the top four. There is the same great potential in this team as the ones in 2005 and 2008, but we'll be back to square one when all the best players leave and I sign some more sub standard shite from Ligue 1. We will look to add one or two players but I'll dally around till after Euro 2012 when all the best ones have shot up in value and I can then patronise you with my economic theory before signing a 17 year old superstar from Le Havre. People forget that we get 15 injuries every season but I'll conveniently capitalise on everyone's lack of memory to suggest that last season was exceptional when in reality it was no worse than any other. Next season we'll be delighted to scrape 4th place too, we can blame a poor start on 'special circumstances' and sell RvP for a nice profit just before the window closes"

Re: Oh my god the season is nearly
another nothing season and didn't get close in any comps - at least last season we had a CC final too look forward to
PL, started poorly, had a good run over the last couple of months, thanks to Spurs and Chelsea collapsing has helped us get into 3rd
CL usual, get through the group, before blowing it 4-0 away to Milan, and although good comeback at home, we were never going to win this cup
Carling Cup , didn't beat much against Shrewsbury and Bolton, before typically losing 1-0 at home to an average City team
FA Cup struggled to beat leeds, but thanks to TH14 comeback goal, before being dumped out by Sunderland

Re: Oh my god the season is nearly
I think it has been a very exciting season and still 3 interesting games to come.
just imagine how boring it could have been had we beaten Wigan the other night. the final 3 games are now nicely set up
Carling Cup - we lost to the best team in England at the time so no disgrace
CL - what a fantastic night it was against Milan, one of the most exciting games I have been to at the Emirates
FA Cup -provided one of the highlights of the season to see Henry return with a winning goal
League - amazing games v Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and we may well finish 3rd after our worst start for over 50 years

Re: Oh my god the season is nearly
i will spend my summer going on my european tour and then saving for next season
Re: Oh my god the season is nearly
Haven't read any posts on this thread, but I already know that I'm with the majority when I say that I can't wait for this fucking season to be over. I also can't wait for the summer to be over, either. I hate stressing over Barcelona, Madrid and City waiting outside The Grove in their cars with packets of sweets waiting to swoop up players like RvP and...erm...RvP, whilst we all wait with baited breath to see which fucking loser Wenger will buy from the French league.

Torture! The last few months which had us win 9 league games (7 on the trot).I Hate Hleb wrote:It's been over in my mind since September!!![]()

Cant wait for it to be over. This season has been the equivalent of an illness to an old faithful pet that the vet has just told you needs putting down.... End the season now and end our suffering for a few months at least

Re: Oh my god the season is nearly
Im glad youre so happy with a season that has seen our worst defeat for 115 years in the league and worst defeat ever in Europe and failure to compete from an early stage for every competition we have entered, glad little winning runs once the league is beyond us keep you going. For the record this doesnt make me happyRed Member wrote:kiwomya wrote:Torture! I agree our season hasn't been good but it shouldn't stop you enjoying the good moments.flash gunner wrote:Im glad youre so happy with a season that has seen our worst defeat for 115 years in the league and worst defeat ever in Europe and failure to compete from an early stage for every competition we have entered, glad little winning runs once the league is beyond us keep you going. Re: Oh my god the season is nearly
I have enjoyed the brief moments of enjoyable results but they are far outweighed by the appalling results and performances. I want this season ended in the stupid belief that next season might be better but its groundhog day with the current board and managerkiwomya wrote:I agree our season hasn't been good but it shouldn't stop you enjoying the good moments.flash gunner wrote:Im glad youre so happy with a season that has seen our worst defeat for 115 years in the league and worst defeat ever in Europe and failure to compete from an early stage for every competition we have entered, glad little winning runs once the league is beyond us keep you going. Yes, and we can all look forward to the season ticket renewal letter/email arriving, asking us to renew so we can help the club fight for honours next season. Yeah, right
