Are we bottling it again?
Re: Are we bottling it again?
I just think a weak squad is running out of steam.
Injuries are building up and we have no strength in depth to replace them with.
Saying that, when you put the Wigan result in context with their other recent results and our recent results against Stoke, it's difficult to completely annihilate us

Re: Are we bottling it again?
how is 4 points clear in 3rd with a home game to come against Norwich City (who lost 0-3 at home yesterday) bottling it???
a hard fought battling point won yesterday, and after Wigan destroyed Newcastle our recent defeat to them is not maybe so bad now. right thats all I have to say today.

But Rich, if this was a one off season in that respect it would be easier to take mate. The fact that its a repeat of so many seasons gone by is why people are annihilating the team (if a few moans and groans amount to that)richpye wrote:I just think a weak squad is running out of steam.

Earlier in the season out injuries at full back were freakish - something no manager in the country could plan for or cope with. But in the midfield and striker positions we have been crying out for cover and we missed two chances in the Summer and January to sort it out.
I just get pig sick of the same old tiredness and injury shit. We're playing less game too based on our cup performances this season
Re: Are we bottling it again?
No wonder. Perhaps after you spent a week mocking my suggestions that Barcelona were going out of the CL semi after the first leg, coupled with your predictions of a 'nice comfortable victory' at Stoke......you may have learned a valuable lesson ?Red Member wrote:how is 4 points clear in 3rd with a home game to come against Norwich City (who lost 0-3 at home yesterday) bottling it???![]()

Red Member is a WUM. Most probably some guy who works in a non-job doing Admin/Filing for £7 an hour then goes to the pub in the evening and tells his mates that he's a high-flyer destined for great things. In other words, Red is a fantasist who embellishes every story he ever tells. The girl he once said hello to in Asda becomes the Model that he dated, fucked silly and drank champagne with in the Sky Bar in New York. The Fiesta he drives becomes the Audi R8 that he once read about in Zoo Magazine. Even his affiliation with Arsenal most probably began with the support of Barnet at school. Once Arsene turned up, "the Gunners" became the In Thing and his previous dalliance with League 2 football was dropped in exchange for a once a season trip to the Conglomerates. Red Member sums up modern-day Britain. He is one of the millions of identi-kit drones with little going for him, but feels the need to make up an alternative life just for the sheer escapism from his otherwise putrid life.
Yes I've bitten. But it feels good to bite someone's head off once in a while.
Red - Enjoy the filing and photocopying at work tomorrow. You have to pay for your Arsenal v Wigan tickets somehow.

I agree. I saw this squad the other day and it just hurt.SteveO 35 wrote:But Rich, if this was a one off season in that respect it would be easier to take mate. Forget the best 11 players for a moment, and all the players listed under youth. Just look at the next 10 players
Edu, Parlour, Cygan, Wiltord, Clichy, Reyes, Kanu, Keown, Van Bronckhorst, Jeffers
Now admittedly there's some duds in there but just look at that...It's just upsetting

On return from the Jungles of Borneo I see the same old hand-wringing from the negative ones .
Whilst we should have locked this down by now we are still 4 pts ahead with 2 games to go ,one win and a draw should do it .
As for what happens next no need for angst........panic later and avoid the rush !

Re: Are we bottling it again?
I think RVP has carried us most of the season, and he's let his foot off the pedal a bit now that 1. we're out of trophy contention and 2. Euro is rapidly approaching.
Our lack of offense apart from our prolific captain is blatantly clear when he's not saving our asses (arses?) over and over again.

ok so if I am this fantasist with all this time on my hands how come I could only pop on for 2 minutes last night whilst you had the time to make up this rambling nonsense about me?frankbutcher wrote:Red Member is a WUM. I wont bite back - I dont do personal abuse
for the record I have never been to Asda, never driven a Fiesta and never supported Barnet.

I supported Arsenal long before AW arrived on the scene and will do so long after he has gone.

Re: Are we bottling it again?
Cant see us winning our next 2 games. The players said previously how big these games were and that every game is a cup final we have to win.
Yet we lose to Wigan, draw 0.0 to a reserve chav team that didn’t want to win and drew to stoke
Its got to the stage that I don’t simply care anymore. If we finish 3rd it will be down to others failing rather than us proving everyone wrong.
Back to reality that this team isnt good enough and cant show respect for other teams.
