Are we bottling it again?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Are we bottling it again?

Post by frankbutcher »

Last 6 games:

L W W L D D

Will we win again this season? I can see us beating Norwich, but West Brom away if we need to win I can see us blowing it again. I wouldn't back against Spurs for 3rd.

it's no surprise that the minute we became favourites to secure 3rd place, requiring only a couple of wins on the trot to make ourselves safe, our form has massively faltered.

I think that due to the scums recent capitulations and the chavs heavy workload we will probably sneak top 4 and maybe top 3 - I thought the geordies would be a serious threat but their heavy trouncing yesterday ion what was their easiest game of the run in has all but ruled them out imo.
Cannot wait for all the "finishing top 4 this season has been wenger's greatest achievement" bullshit statements

I get no pleasure from saying it, but yes of course we are

When Arteta limped off against Wigan and he and Wilshere were confirmed as out for the rest of the season, I said we wouldn't win another game, despite protestations from a certain primary coloured member and others.

1 point from the last available 9. Thought that one point would be Norwich at home, so after yesterday's creditable draw we might edge up to 2 points. Won't win at the Hawthorns

2 games to go and we could end up 3rd or 6th :banghead:
I have absolutely no idea where we will end up. Surely to God we can't fuck up next Saturday and then with Chelsea and Newcastle playing each other and the Spuds away at 2 relegation threatened sides then hopefully we won't need a win at West Brom.
But yes we are bottling it again but then what's new eh?

LOL

Arsene's 'greatest achievement' will be a season in which:

- Arsenal lost 8-2 at OT
- Arsenal won sod all
- Arsenal lost their only two class players
- Arsenal have alienated their captain so much he now wants to leave
- Arsenal were humiliated in the FA Cup
- Arsenal were trounced in Milan
- Arsenal had their most incompetent transfer window ever
- Arsenal spent the whole season staving off the average Spuds and Newcastle, despite a massive wage bill. Financial mismanagement of the highest order
- Arsenal, for the first time I can remember under Le Joke, lost TEN, yes TEN league games! (could soon be 11).
- Arsenal are on course to lose 25% of their PL games!!!

It's an indication of what kind of an incompetent twat we have in charge, that such a disaster of a season, that would see a serious club sack such a manager, might be classed as his 'Greatest achievement'.

Fancy that. Wenger's 'Greatest achievement' would be classed as a mediocre season at any other proper club. Unbelievable, all for £7.5 mil a season.

 :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

And the great thing is we have another two years minimum of watching it happen all over again, and most likely another five !

Arsene knows

Wigan was a mess, QPR we were second best to most balls.

But otherwise not bottling it, more a case of losing Arteta and RvP being in the "Red Zone".

Astute summer purchases and sales can make us contenders; as always since 2008, we are three or four players away from a good squad.

But Baba I regard Vermaelen, Koscielny, Sagna, Wilshere and RvP as good established players even if you do not.
And Szczesny, Coquelin and Oxlade-Chamberlain as good players with genuine potential rather than pie-in-the-sky potential.

And as always, since that year the most needy position will not be addressed and it changes each season. We suffered 2 years of shit goalkeeping, let all 3 CDMs go in 2008, had 3 seasons at the least where our centre back problems were known to inhabitants of the Amazon rainforest but not Wenger and this year it will be no striking options when RvP fucks off.

Of course, shit-for-brains will patronise us all with his very unqualified, amateurish assessment of the world economy and the pending collapse of every major football club, before kicking off a new season underprepared with a mixture of teenagers and second raters

How can this man be allowed to continue with this failed project. It defies belief

I dont think we're bottling it. We have an average team with a fading manager and the fact we are in 3rd tells you how poor the league is

You're not wrong mate - the league is fucking shit. I've argued this point for ages when Wenger apologists go on about how the lower teams have improved and caught up. The reality is that Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United - the main dominant forces of the PL era - all have worse teams now than when they were at the height of their powers. This United team without Rooney is ordinary but are still favourites for the title

City have obviously improved because of the money but I don't think the standard is any higher now than it was when we conquered all before us in 2004. Look at Blackburn and QPR today - both total and utter cock.....really any better than the relegated teams from 8 years ago?
