It just made Lineker look stupid and even more like a monkey than he already does.

Never ceases to amaze me Quartz......just like the sensitive souls that scream abuse of all kinds at footballers including such charms as "hope your wife/mum/child dies" etc, and then complain to the nearest steward or copper when the player makes a hand gesture back. Made me laugh watching all those pricks at QPR last week abusing Bale and then when he went into the stand to get the ball it was like the parting of the oceans.

Lineker is a juvenile second rate presenter wanting to worm his way into the affections of a mainstream audience in the way that Jimmy Greaves used to do on Saint & Greavsie (showing age here). How anyone can take the guy seriously, let alone, write a 'disgusted from Tunbridge Wells' letter to the BBC about some childish impresssion.......come on guys, time to "man up" as Captain Racist would say

I was midway through turning the TV off when i saw that but it appeared as though he was mocking the stoke fans more than Arsene? Or was he actually taking the piss out of Wenger?

I posted a complaint too.

It is unnacceptable when a mainstream broadcaster acts disrespectfully to the club. Why haven't there been impersonations of the Fergie tirades? They are just as animated. They might be less frequent but that may be because United aren't often on the receiving end of shit decisions. Why has Dalglish gone unscathed from his amazingly spoilt and bitter interviews?

Most of the venim directed to Wenger on this forum are from the people who have found the ex-scum bias acceptable, so I can't see the hypocrisy of other forum users sending in a complaint. Wenger's antics are highlighted so that "doing a wenger" will become a definition of the man as much as "I didn't see it". Forget the fact that every manager does and says exactly the same. Lets ridicule Wenger because he doesn't play the game with the tabloid drinking club.

When has our manager skirted an interview or blanked a broadcaster entirely because they had the audacity to broadcast allegations of corruption? Fat Sam and Slur Alex got away with that entirely. What MOTD should have focussed on was that a young kid who had his leg shattered and who has acted with nothing but dignity was set upon by Stoke scum. For Pulis to justify that by highlighting the boos at Shawcross who "breaks when he wants" shows no class, not waving arms around.

Wenger is guilty of mismanagement of our squad and wage budget but he acts with class and dignity. The man got sent to the Old Trafford stands for kicking a half empty water bottle for fucks sake. He then had to stand amongst 70,00 twats singing he was a paedo. Not much of that in the press was there? I remember the next morning that fat wanker on talksport saying he should be punished for raising his arms aloft in the stand as it was disrespectful  . If Wenger is to be berated for his tantrums on the sideline then berate every other fucker. Remember Queen Kenny kicking the ball out of Martinezs' hands? We didn't see Lineker seizing on that classless act did we? Lets not be so keen to put our manager down that we think what went on at Stoke and in the BBC studios is acceptable. The more shit I hear like that the more I support the man. Over the last couple of years I'd been feeling apathetic to Arsenal for the limbo the regime have put us in, but that doesn't mean we should roll over when others take the piss out of the club.

CC, I agree with much of what you say (especially about how other managers get a free pass from media) but I cannot for one second agree that wenger acts with class and dignity - there are many times that he acts like a grade a c**t on the sidelines and his post match interviews after a defeat are nothing short of embarassing  Sometimes as fans we can be ok with his displays of no class (shammers away when he should have decked that pardew c**t  ) but it doesnt make it any less classless and his conduct in recent seasons has been poor. Still I do agree that we as fans, the people that pay his wages, have the right to complain about his conduct but also have the right to defend him from outside sources

I wish to complain once again about the petty mindless childishness of Gary Lineker on Match of the Day. His bitter impersonation of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was both xenophobic and offensive. Will he be doing a Scottish impersonation of Kenny Daglish or Alex Ferguson in the near future? Or perhaps a Spanish version of Roberto Martinez? Lest we forget, this is the infantile presenter who once closed a World Cup match featuring Brazilian great Ronaldo: "Well, he may floss his teeth with rope, but..."
The old boys network of Match of the Day has long been a tiresome feature of Saturday nights, but Lineker has succeeded in taking it to new lows.
Please can this nasty 'little' man be taken off our screens and replaced with a presenter who actually presents the programme, and doesn't try to impose onto it his own prejudice and unpleasantness.
I was working 12 hour nights over the (long) week-end, could someone tell me what the jug eared *word censored* said (verbatim if possible) so I can complain as well - agree 1,000% about the MotD old boys (read FARTS) network/closed shop...time they got shot pf hanson & co - bunch of wankers.

Dear Sir/Madam

I write to complain about the utterly inappropriate behaviour of Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker during Saturday's broadcast. I and many other supporters of my football club find it astonishing that Mr Lineker feels he can make crass, insulting gestures about our manager Arsene Wenger while managers of other football clubs are not subject to the same treatment. As a neutral broadcaster I look forward to seeing unbiased programming about the day's football, and I ask how I am expected to do this when Mr Lineker performs a both xenophobic and offensive impression of our manager.

Not only this, Mr Lineker has sought to humiliate Mr Wenger when the very serious subject of racism in football was being broached. I do not feel this is at all amusing, I did not find Mr Lineker's "impression" (note the asterisks) at all funny, and most importantly it has detracted from the fact that the most important subject of all was trivialised by Mr Lineker's wholly inappropriate behaviour. This was also repeated in your morning airing of the same problem which disturbs me further and leads me to believe that you have endorsed his behaviour by airing his "impression" again.

Having watched Match of the Day pretty much every week for the past ten years, I wish for you to explain to me what action will be taken against Mr Lineker, as he has jeopardised the impartiality of your programme. One has to ask what the real reason for his crass behaviour was, seeing as he is a former player of our rivals Tottenham Hotspur, and I have never seen him do such a "funny impression" of current Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp despite him making the same gestures on an almost weekly basis.

Are managers no longer supposed to show emotion, in fear of being humiliated on national television by your disgrace of a manager?

I look forward to your reply.

People are complaining about that? Honestly? It shows how politically correct the world is becoming when someone taking the piss out of a manager is seen as a 'disgrace'. Wenger deserves all the piss taking he gets, he acts like a cock every week standing on the touchline with his fucking oversized jacket moaning about anything.

Before anyone calls me racist, I'm not, but it also fucks me off no end when people moan about racism when there are much more important things that go unnoticed in the world that have to be sorted out first

I am offended and insulted by the way in which your so called football expert closed Match Of The Day on Saturday evening. Not only were we endured as Arsenal supporters to see you fill in most of the 'highlights' with Stoke fans impersonating our manager (something that was shown again in the panels discussion and supposed 'analysis' of the game. Not quite a breakdown of the beautiful game was it, more of a mockery), you then decided to air an impression of him by Gary Lineker, a man I previously respected on air. Not only do we have to listen to some of the most bias opinions week in week out on the show, you also pick and choose what is shown to make games we dominate look more even, don't show penalty appeals and poor challenges, you've now turned the show into a mix between Soccer AM and Alister McGowans Football impressions, with Arsenal and Arsene Wenger frequently the subject of your satirical puns and punchlines. I for one will be boycotting your so called 'football analysis' show and watching highlights through Sky as at least they have a bit of decorum when showing football highlights. I will leave you with one thing to ponder though, when your interviewers embarrisingly crawl around 'Sir' Alex and Harry Redknapp, I do wonder as to whether the outdated pundits you have would do a hilarious impression of one of them to close the show with? Maybe they don't have any funny traights like chewing gum, shouting at assistant refs, twitching or checking the time?!! Hmmm
