I think the issue here is how the Spuds RESPOND to their players leaving.
So, VDV and Modric go?
Moutinho (potentially) comes in and he and Cazorla are about the same level tbh.
They already have two keepers on their books but the position is weak, so what do they do? Address it by signing a keeper that is, and you can quote me on this, MILES superior to the gobby Pole who's never performed in a big match (unless he's conceding 8 at OT).
Now no one is sure where they will finish BUT, as pointed out by others, they should have finished ahead of us last season and it took an act of God (also known as Marton Fulop) for Arsenal to scrape ahead. They almost did it under Jol too. They have been catching Arsenal up for years in fact and sooner or later, it's gonna happen.
What's really sad to see though, is all this 'Mind that Gap' bollocks.
Highest ticket prices in the world, massive cash reserves, wage bill of over £125 million and the fans' main ambition is finishing ahead of the Spuds. It's become our cup final finishing ahead of them, 4th has become the trophy. It's pathetic really, what have Arsenal become under that

Wenger? How far has he allowed standards to slip?
