You can't argue with 2 away clean sheets though (Liverpool and Stoke tough places to go). He must be doing something right.

Also just seen a stat about him never losing a game when playing for us.

Agree, you can't, but we should have a better number 2 imo, he's not it and it will surely bite us in the arse if he continues to play.

Do we agree that he's better than flappy at least?

I'm with you on the needing a better number 2 part. Wenger should've signed someone like Freidel in the summer.

Fair play to the lad and will do him a lot of good but still have little confidence in him.

Sorry 1989, I think they're as shit as each other, Freidel should have been signed the summer before, before he went to the scum, this season I would have bought Jaaskelainen, made him number 2, also made him the goal keeping coach and got rid of the tit that is Gerry Peyton, that's about it I reckon.

I don't rate Mannone either. For a big guy, he has no command of the box. He made a couple of decent saves today, but almost fucked up by parrying a shot straight back out - for a keeper, that is a no-no.

Personally, I'd rather have Fabianski because if we are going to have a keeper with no command of his box, then he'd better have good reflexes.

Personally I would have, and still would, sign Craig gorden and tell him to go battle with chesney for the number 1 position - having an international keeper at the back up keeper position (especially if he joins on am free 8) ) would be a good move to the club assuming the ma,n is over his injury problems cos the other back ups employed by the club are like rabbits caught in headlights

He's a disaster waiting to happen, fuck, weekend 5-a-side keepers boss their boxes better then him. He was sloppy in the shotstopping too, deflecting a ball right back into the middle of the box. The team is bailing him out.

He is good at stopping shots, something Arsenal must rate highly when picking keepers as they are usually good at this if not in the air. But like Fabianski he is weak in the air. Mannone can really kick a goal kick a good distance down the pitch.

He's useless and how he is still here is beyond me. He's been crap for the reserves for years, crap when he's gone out on loan and mostly crap when given a first team chance

At Stoke he had nothing to do at all

Yesterday he made 2 or 3 smart stops and did everything well that he was asked to do. But unless he's had an ability transplant in the Summer he is still no better than League One standard. Olympiakos away last year.....words fail me

Wenger doesn't know anything about defending or Goalkeepers and it's a low priority .

Hopefully there will be a decent young french keeper coming through the ranks from a 2nd string team and then if Gilles says yes he will buy one !
