its bad the amount of abuse this interview is getting from the wengerites , of all the people who are entitled to an opinion about the arsenal then it is tony adams, a real arsenal legend.

Those b****rd fans should get a kicking every single time they step outside their front doors - it is way beyond sacrilegious to throw abuse at a man who came through the ranks and give the club 100% every time he pulled on that famous old jersey 8) I will say with absolute certainty that he would not have allowed the club to sell out its history and traditions if he was still in the club :x
Wish all those wengerite c**ts would fcuk off to the nearest tube station and fcuk themselves under the next train to arrive in.....our club will be all the healthier when they are gone 8)

Ah but remember your rehabilitation to "the dark side" is coming along nicely.

You have already completed steps no.1 and no.2 of your treatment. 8) :D

Big Tone seems to change his mind from week to week,

next week he will be saying "Wenger best manager Arsenal ever had", "if it wasn't for Wenger, he would of been finished along time ago, Wenger extended his playing career by another 6 years due, to fitness and diet", "And fans shouldn't always wish for what they wanted, when it comes to Wenger"

big tone great captain and leader for Arsenal, but also like Wenger can come across some times as a bit like McMurphy from One Flew over the cuckoo's next

Agree with most of what he says.

Where I disagree is:

When he lists players Arsenal have let go, in some circumstances I understand why (i.e. Cesc wanting to go back to Barcelona, Song being a great bit of business!, Petit's knee was too damaged to remain with us at top level etc).

The other is where he has a go at Hansen, who I think is a good pundit.
Just because someone has not managed, they can still be a good pundit.

Yes absolutely! :D

Step 1. You did this all by yourself. And you didn't even realise it....
You knew by lurking that this site was predominately "realist", or "anti-Wenger", or whatever you want to call it.
By registering and posting you were actually asking to be convinced. It was a cry for help.

Step 2. After our little chat the other day, (or "session on uncle armchairs couch" as I prefer to call it), you overcame your fears and confronted your demons. You actually tentatively admitted that Wenger is not perfect and that in fact he does have "flaws" which have detrimentally affected AFC.

Its a long and painful road to go from Wenger supporter to WOB with much frustration and copious hair loss but I feel you have made great strides and are to be commended.

I dont want to take things too fast but step 3 will involve admitting that change can be a good and positive thing and that fear can be a negative thing. 8)

Lol, guess that's one way to view things. 'realist' nope, that's pure subjectivity, calling it [the forum] realist.

Yep I have entered of my own free will but believe I am strong enough not to be infected by the ever downward spiralling despair that seeps through these threads and posts. Only time will tell the truth tho'; it will be a long journey as you say but on which side of the fence and which particular indivduals complete that journey on any given side of that fence will only be seen by those brave enough to take the road.

read Addicted.

TA said "Arsenal" was just a job and he's a West Ham fan being from Romford. He calls us Arsenal not The Arsenal.

that said, he is deservedly an Arsenal legend.

a lot of what he says in the interview is true (apart from song, petit and overmars).

the fact that he can't understand how Wenger thinks speaks volumes to me.

if there's anyone to train our defence it should be him- and lets face it we need it. Gibbs is a perfect example - quick, hard working, gets forward, tracks back.

but he gets caught out of position and gets caught ball watching. both should not happen in a game cos the centre backs should be communicating with him - gibby, come short, push him wide, keep on him,get back etc. etc.

the reason they don't i believe is because Wenger doesn't coach them to - GG used to train them to move as a four and work as four. Wenger just tells them to go out and play which is bollocks.

one manager used to tie his back four together with bungee cords to keep them working as a unit. which is extreme but a valid training technique imho.

thats the training Gibbs needs. and incidentally its the training that Ashley Cole had as a teenager at the Arsenal youth set up. where he started out as winger/striker.

I love Tony but he does talk some bollocks .
Fizmans put 50 million into the Club .....what a whopper !

As for Tony being West Ham that's also bollocks ,his dad was west ham his mother Arsenal,he was in between, his mother got him into Arsenal and the Dad resented it but TA knows it was best for him.
He's never been to watch west ham since he was 14 ,that i know from his dad.

Thing is with TA he says what he thinks at that moment in time ,so his truth varies from day to day,I'm very similar in that respect .

He is still the man though and not a media whore which I also like .

Arsenal FC are over. Get the DVDS of when we had good players like Bergkamp, Henry and Van Persie.

Agree with Herd, his views do tend to change quite radically. A few weeks ago he was saying "which Arsenal do they want back - the one Arsene Wenger built?", yet he'll criticise everything that goes on under Wenger's regime.

There seems to be a trend amongst ex-players to (rightly) slate more or less everything to do with the club at the moment, but none of them can bring themselves to say that it's down to Wenger and that his time is up.

Still, an absolute legend and not self-interested like too many nowadays. He would crawl through a river of shit just to be involved with the club again and it pisses me off that the club didn't even have the decency to respond to him.

Adams should be on the coaching staff, end of. Next manager? a bit of a risk but look at Rijkaard as an example. His first managerial appointment was an ordinary team, he got relegated. He went to Barcelona to coach players with the equivalent qualities he had as a player, a success. Too many great players/ winners don't make good managers of average teams because the players don't think like them.
Who was Redknapps first team coach when he won his only major trophy? That's right Tony Adams.
When Wenger leaves Vieira, Adams and Campbell will be back at the club either coaching or doing whatever role Paddy is doing at Citeh.Arsenal winners, leaders, legends. :barscarf: :barscarf:
