Mr Arsenal speaks

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It is annoying that the board didn't give him the courtesy of a response when he offered his services. Shocking how tradition has been replaced by a modern myopic cult.

On Wengers "role" at Arsenal.......

On Wengers inflated wages for finishing top four and losing.....
And the manager is paying himself a few quid. That is what irritates the fans as well. Ivan [Gazidis, chief executive] is on a lot of money, Arsène is on a lot of money. The fans come to watch the players and think 'Hold on a minute, give him your money!'

On Wengers "legacy"...

"Arsène will do what Arsène wants to do," Adams says. "I played with him for six years, I have met him a few times. The more I get to know him the less I know him. I haven't got a clue how that man thinks, or how he works. He is a difficult man to fathom."

He made it seem like things are so black and white.
You can't just " restructure the wage bill and give the big boys more".

The club brought in great players like Cazorla and Podolski while offering van pursie 130k. He wasn't interested. It's time to get over it and move on.
The most ANNOYING thing was him staying in the league(after being allowed to court Utd for months). :banghead:

I feel for him on the coaching aspect. His managerial record is poor, but I'm sure they can give him a defensive coaching position in one of the junior squads and let him make his way up.

Good thoughts from TA6. No bitterness, just truth. He's failed completely as a manager but I would kill to have him involved in the club even if it was handing out the paychecks or serving the food.

Also slams Hansen - brilliant.

Love the bit about how he couldn't get his head round fighting for survival. Winner.

It's sad and very revealing that 'mr arsenal' feels so disconnected from modern day arsenal! This ain't the club that he captained and loves

its bad the amount of abuse this interview is getting from the wengerites , of all the people who are entitled to an opinion about the arsenal then it is tony adams, a real arsenal legend.

Having watched Tony throughout his career you could not have had a better asset at the club.

Very disappointing that he gets treated with the same disdain as the club treats the fans.
