City bought some players in the summer but did they buy quality? Imo they didn't sign a single player who was good enough to improve them and that was the problem.

Spot on. Add 1 or 2 proven quality players to a successful side each year and push on to even greater heights. Instead they went out and signed Jack Rodwell and Scott Sinclair

20 of that was pissed away on Rodwell and Sinclair. Might as well of set the money on fire. Nastasic was a quality signing to be fair but they off loaded Balotelli in Jan without any replacement coming in which was foolish in the extreme.

Macini is a prick anyway, always blaming the players never himself.

Blatantly, people slag Purplenose and Wenger for defending the indefensible
but there's a reason they last so long...

I think 3 colossal mistakes in FA Cup Final had cost him his job; not sticking with the other goalkeeper, terrible substitution Rodwell for Tevez and bringing in Dzeko, their most efficient striker in 91st minute.

We've been here before JD.

Define "well".

Because I would say Wenger hasn't done well in that competition either. One final in 17 years? With the players he's had, the size of the club, the money wasted on wages?

Exactly, Wenger's record in the CL is fucking embarrassing, all he wants to do is qualify for the cunting competition so he can milk more money for the club and for himself... 29 million personal fortune... for what?

He won't be missed, uncharismatic boring man, was very lucky to win title last season, only doing so because 10 man QPR stopped playing in the last few minutes when they became aware they were safe.
Finally got shafted in the same way he replaced Hughes, by owners who will go on to make Abramovich look patient and responsible.

Agree with Sid, his first half of last season aside he has produced boring football on a colossal budget.

Bit worried they might get in a very good manager that will see them dominate for a while to come, hopefully the owners fuck up the next appointment.

5 year deal Mancini had. I don't understand why they give them so long. He must be getting around 10m compo, why not just give him 10m more in transfers?

Won't miss him in the slightest. Lacked class.

Why sack him and Platt 2 games before the end of the season though? - why not let them see out the season and take the muted applause of the crowd for delivering them their first league title since the 1960's :? their tenure was hardly a huge failure that warranted shoving them out the door like this, surely? :o

my definition of "never done well" is Mancini getting to the quarters once in his managerial career
and failing to get out of the groups twice with HalfaBillion£Citeh

Interestingly enough Citeh are favourites (with Betfair) for next season's PL. Huge statement of the effect of Ferguson retiring more than anything else methinks.
