Cazorla

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ah the old "praise a pro footballer because he surprisingly has a good first touch" surely this is a basic requirement!
You'd think so but its amazing how often footballers don't have it. It's like these footballers that are ridiculously one footed, it pisses me right off, all you do for a living is play football every day, surely you'd just devote a bit of your training time (or even your spare time) to making sure you can actually hit the thing properly with either foot, there's just no excuse for being as one footed as many players are.

So are you saying you cough cough errrrm 'fancy' him in a manly way or in a manly football way?
Oh its purely a footballing thing with Cazorla, he's no Bendtner in the looks department

Disagree mate, there's a lot of bullshit talked by those who follow football. How many times do you hear a keeper described as "a good shot stopper"!

Just waiting for the Summer transfer rumours linking him with Real and Barca

He's been a little gem for us, but I bet we've got one more year of him to enjoy maximum.

Has a lot to do in my book,we coulda had Mata, fantastic player. I wasn't biggest fans of Nasri or Hleb but I rate them ahead of Santi.

Is this a wind up

Nasri is better than Santi Cazorla. In midfield I'd say he's as good as Silva and only bettered by Mata of the 3. Hleb , as good as he was played in a midfield with Cesc,Flamini,Rosicky in his pomp and even amore dependable Gilberto marshalling at the back.

Santi has to work with a far more inferior midfield, not to mention strike force. can you imagine how many goals van Judas would have scored with santi as his supply line

I think Santi has has a few misses this season but he is by no means inferior to most especially Nasri. :o

I'd say Santi has done more in one season than Nasri has in 5 in the English league. The sad thing is Nasri is actually a very talented footballer but he is also a bottle job and lazy w**ker to boot.

Last two years we sold our best player its Santi or Jack next as they are the only two who we could get big money for.If Jack gets fully fit, doubtful i know with our medical team he will be gone to Utd or City

WTF? Seriously? :o

Nasri? The guy we got 3 months of actual effective football out of? Hleb? The guy that overplayed everything he touched and had absolutely no end product?

Are you taking the piss? :rubchin: :|

is this a joke? Santi has a first touch as good as our lord Bergkamp, possibly better
basic requirement indeed

It may sound like bullshit but a lot of these old football cliches are grounded in fact. We have all seen keepers that were good at reacting quickly and stopping shots within a certain distance of their starting position, but struggle with crosses and have poor positional sense etc. They are good shot stoppers but other elements of their game let them down.

And many profesional footballers have very good careers without a great first touch, because they bring other elements of their game to the table. Thus when Mick McCarthy said to a drunken Roy Keane, "Call yourself a professional footballer?" Keane replied with "Call what you've got a first touch?"

City will be in for Cazorla as soon as Pelegrini is appointed, they know we like their money.
