the "R" word is a source of great tension with me...
I don't understand the need for the man to be named in every case, it doesn't do anything in terms of prevailing justice of those who are guilty and does nothing but stain the reputation and ruin the life of those who are innocent. I understand the need to tip the scales in favour of the victim as so many rapes go unreported, however I don't see that naming and shaming someone who is innocent until proven guilty (apparently) does this.
more often than not women who cry rape have very little comeuppance in return, a couple of cases they have been sent to prison but when you balance this out in terms of the amount of cases the CPS decide to prosecute there is no motivation for the genuine victims to come forward as they are given little protection. how on earth they can take the cases of these frauds and spiteful liars to court, and not prosecute genuine cases due to a "lack of evidence" (LACK OF EVIDENCE!! where is the evidence when she is LYING!! the evidence more often than not is in the fact they had sex full stop!) i don't understand. as DB10 said they are let off more often than not with a slap on the wrist having ruined someone's life!
many years ago my then girlfriend was raped at the age of 17, dragged into a car in broad daylight. that was taken to court, the guy was a serial rapist and was prosecuted for 3 charges and got the equivalent of 4 years for each victim which is disgusting, I had to stand up in the old bailey and give evidence that day which was horrible, but i can genuinely speak from the POV of a victim or at least being close to one.
i'm rambling, in conclusion rape should be one of the things that should lean (slightly) towards favouring women but the CPS are useless and the scummy females who lie about it make sure that it will never be possible for this to happen.

At least that's some comfort. Completely horrible thing to happen and the woefully low rates of reporting and particularly prosecution makes it even worse.

I've no experience of Engerlish law but Oirish law is fucked in the head. My brother in law was in a very toxic relationship with this mad bitch that was banging half his neighbours. He found out and confronted her,
verbally. She promptly called the Police and claimed he had raped her. Plod duly arrested him, treated him like a rapist piece of shit. The courts similarly treated him like he was a convicted rapist. An order to put his child (from a different woman) into care was issued. It was guilty until proven innocent. She also told everyfuckingone who'd listen that he had raped her so he was getting threats etc where he lived. Eventually, through a very complex series of events it was proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was innocent. Any compensation? An apology from the cops or the court? Was the lying psycho bitch prosecuted for wasting police time or committing slander? Not a fucking bit of it.

The book should be thrown at that bitch. Completely shocking that she wasn't charged with anything. Leaving aside the terrible grief caused to your brother in law it's people like that that cause real victims of rape to be disbelieved.

Yep. Rape is a terrible terrible crime and rapists should get fucking life in prison. But women that lie and cry rape to get revenge on an ex boyfriend should also serve prison time in my opinion. These sick bitches destroy lives and as you rightly say they also cause real victims of rape to be disbelieved.

Just an update. The justice system produced a result yesterday, for me, that I wasn't expecting. After the magistrates shifted the hearing to county court I got unsupervised, overnight contact for the interim period. Finally, someone saw through my ex-wife's malicious allegations and passed a judgement that actually benefitted both me and my daughters. The judge was absolutely furious with the advocates as basic filing and legal process did not happen. The magistrate called the case "weird" and "strange" and passed it on with someone who can make a legal decision. I'm learning that the system is there to support fathers, but, the problem in my case (and a few others I've read, heard about) was the solicitors and ill-informed people in the court arena making poor decisions.
The major flaw in family law are the false allegations of violent abuse. That both parties need to be pulled in and present their side of the argument before a decision made. With legal aid now mainly available to the victims alleging violent abuse there will be a lot more cases of false allegations, with generally the male partner having to foot the cost of defending himself. At the very least legal aid should be there to support the respondent as well in these cases.
As men we hate to admit that the missus gives us a slap every now and again, and most would just brush it aside. Yet if you are in a toxic abusive relationship heading for the rocks, don't hesitate, get in there first.

Really glad for you mate, I can only imagine the stress / strain that it has put on you.
Some women are very vindictive, malicious and have no hesitation in using their kids (who they are supposed to love) as pawns in their games. Funny creatures.

Nos89 – glad to hear common sense prevailed and I’m delighted for you, mate.

Personally I can’t imagine what it would be like to not be able to see my kids.

Thanks fellas. The relief of the court decisions has lifted a huge weight from my shoulders. There's some women out there who actually believe its alright for a father not to see his children but its borders on oppression if a mother goes a day without seeing their children, no matter how the mother treats the kids. I guess Merseyside has the largest per centage of fatherless households in the country for a reason. Believe me its not all down to the fathers, I would love to see an investigation completed on all the women who have claimed abuse, got legal aid, and how many cases were genuine.
