If we don't get a proper striker, I still don't want Demba Ba. In this instance, I'd rather have David Villa. I still do not understand why we haven't wrapped one up yet.

augie wrote:In an ideal world we would sign a top quality striker, a top quality defensive midfielder, a julio cesar type of keeper (experienced quality type of keeper that will provide short term competition for chesney) and then if by some miracle we still had money in the kitty I would buy demba ba. For me he is a quality striker and he is streets better than anything we currently have (maybe not podolski but we aint playing him as a striker  ). People forget that if we sign higuain, shrek or jovetic and one of them get injured then we will be back to giroud or the forehead again (assuming we cant/dont sell the c**t  ) so ba would be a sensilble signing in that regard.

Anyway to sum up, I like him as a player but he isnt good enough to be be classed as our first choice striker and I believe we have other priority needs before we could consider buying a second striker
agree,Ba alongside a Marquee signing would be good, but Ba as our star summer transfer would show how far we have slipped

I was going to mention tht in a post but I couldn't spell his name ,and I think navas is costing them 24m ,so players can be bought now , I presume we are doing the usual and waiting to see if we qualify for the group stage of CL b4 splashing the money . Big managerial changes at the top 3 clubs a perfect opportunity for us to step up but as usual nothing, no doubt AW will be commentating at the confederations cup or maybe they will send dick law off somewhere again to sign some player that can't get a work permit and will have to go on loan for a few years in spain.

Augie sums up my feelings on this.

I only hope we are in serious talks with Higuain.

Right now I'd consider bringing Emile Heskey back from the beach to replace the utterly useless Le Chapman, and the inexplicably even more useless Forehead......so a bloke who has found the back of the net regularly in the PL and is approaching his peak years as a striker would be a decent move. Its not David Villa, but neither it is some never-will-be halfwit from the depths of the French league so I voted for the last option

One plus in signing him would be It'd be cheap getting his name put on your shirt.

I voted no. We should have signed him before chelski got their hands on him but ATM he's prob on huge wages. I also really don't want any africans . We've had so many ACON deserters it always leaves us empty.

You don't really think we'll buy Higuain do you? So it's back to second class strikers and Demba Ba is one of the better of those so a yes from me
