I'm not going to vote (wouldn't want an outsider skewing the result of a poll of this quality
) but if I was to vote I'd have gone for the "wait until mid season" option. There's no point in ruling out a contract at this stage, he's not likely to leave or get sacked before mid season so it'd be daft to close the door on the idea at this stage.
I know there are often suggestions that the cash might be splashed before a transfer window ends in disappointment for Arsenal but this time the suggestions do seem a bit stronger, I could quite easily see one or two quality additions coming in (along with the usual "prospects"). If that happens, especially when looking at your form from the end of last season, there's no reason to think you can't be challenging for a trophy and if you do then Wenger, having steered the club through a few years of belt tightening, would have proved to be the right man (in my opinion).
If he fails miserably to strengthen during this transfer window and by the middle of the season you're looking like needing another class run just to get a Champions League place then I wouldn't give him a new contract.
Easy saying it from the outside looking in mind, I know a lot of you will have already had the seasons where you've said "lets see how he does" and you'll now be at the "just get rid now" stage, but just a personal opinion, I'd give him this transfer window and see how you're looking in December.

SAFCFTM
The board will probably wait until mid-season to sign an extension anyway, if possible they might announce an extension around February as a PR move around the time that the lucrative Club Level ticket renewals are administered.

Yes. Lord Wenger must never leave. It would cause mass suicide among the huge throngs of worshipping disciple. More importantly, Steve O's barbecue would become an instant flop, as there would be no hoards of jubilant banner waving super fans decked in 'I luv AW' T-Shirts chanting "One Arsene Wenger, There's Only One Arsene Wenger" coming out in full support of what would have been a most memorable and remarkable fete.

Re: [POLL] New contract for WENGER... yes or no?
Went for no in the end but would have liked a "see at the end of the season" option. I know that his contract will be up but I don't see why this shouldn't be done on the clubs terms. If the board had any balls (they don't) then they'd be pressuring Wenger to sign quality players now and achieve success next season or its goodbye to your 7m a year and he can leave amicably without having to break his contract.
We've come to the point now where we need to see real results from our highly paid manager, mid-season promise is nowhere near enough to justify another potential 4/5 years of stagnation.

If the board had any balls then he would have been sacked long before now - I will bet my life that the next manager wont be given an 8 year pass with no trophies and especially with a team that is visably declining year after year

Get the fcuk out wenger you senile old C**t
