Napoli match thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Hope I stick to my guns on this cos at the mo I have no intention of paying even more money for sports channels :x If anybody has a stream it would be appreciated

Btw fcuk the results in games like this - we have already had wenker talking up giroud after a few goals against midget 3rd rate Asian teams so a good result today would have him reaching for the Kleenex (copyright steve o  ). A trouncing today might not see him getting flak from those present but it might just make him reconsider the merits of his squad.

I like your optimism (desperation  ) but if last season didn't tell him all he needed to know about the quality of this squad, then I doubt a drubbing in a pre-season friendly will change anything :(

Anyway, I can't see a trouncing happening. I think we'll win 2-1.

I know that absolutely - the irony is, and this applies to all managers not just wenker, is when they win a few games in pre season they then spout bullshit about being in good form and it's importance going into the new season - lose a few pre season games and those very same managers will disregard the results and point to the fact that it is only pre season  Win today (and in every pre season game) will only confirm wenker's stance that we are on the verge of greatness ( ), lose today and it will be an irrelevance but if my wish was granted and we took one hell of a beating today and tomorrow then it might start to cause uneasiness in the powers that be within the club

Just been watching BT for 10 minutes, and you can tell straight away that David James isn't switched on enough to be a decent pundit. He's ponderous and uses a lot of words to say very little :? - surely they would have put him through his paces before signing him up as a front man for BT's main show? :o

McManaman seems far quicker and in tune with things, and actually has an opinion.

James reminds me of watching Tony Adams as a pundit. It's awkward and hard to watch.

Anyway, the team is....

Fabianski, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Ramsey, Wilshere, Rosicky, Podolski, Gnabry, Giroud

Subs: Martinez, Sagna, Arteta, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Akpom, Miquel, Zelalem

The fact that we are "at home" yet playing in our new away kit so the players can be mobile advertising hoardings for it,speaks volumes about the mind set of the people running our club!!! :banghead:

LOL good to see Ramsey has picked up right where he left off. Given away 3 sloppy passes in 5 minutes
