1st game of the season plans...

Good use of the word "odd" as well, as those AKB's are a peculiar bunch :rubchin:

What are your plans for the 1st game of the season (it's not a chat up, just to pass time)?

Mine might go like this I think:
Wife and children are away on hols in Dublin (visiting relatives), so I'm going to go to my local at midday..ish after wanking solidly between 9am and 11:30am,meet my mate, get the train at 1..ish (couple of travellers), have a couple or so in Tollington maybe, meet my Dad, toodle down to the ground at 2.50pm...ish eating chips or a pie, bottle of cider at half time, pint somewhere on the way back to Finsbury Park maybe, back to the local, beer till I'm full, kebab and one last ***** before the wife gets home...

Struggling to think of a year where I had less enthusiasm than this just a week before the start of the season. Used to be properly excited once the start of August rolled around but i'm just tired of it now. It'll be the predictable same old shit that it has been for years, scrapping for 4th and dumped out of the cups by massively superior/massively inferior teams.

Finding it harder to justify shelling out for match tickets too when there's absolutely fuck all chance of my money being reinvested back into the team.

:(

I'll save that for Sunday morning...

I must admit the gloomy response was predictable, but if people put that to the side I'm sure there would be some interesting reading.
Come on guys...

Nothing interesting as such but I am looking forward to the new season. Leaving aside all the negativity it's just been too long since I've watched 11 men in red & white kick around a pig sack.

Agreed - was always one of my favourite days of the year. Stepping onto Gillespie Road and seeing the sea of red, with the fresh new shirts, the sun shining and genuine excitement in the air was a truly awesome feeling.

Sadly, I won't be experiencing it this year, as my interest has totally waned and I chose not to renew my membership.

Brentford are away at Gillingham. 15quid at the Gate. stand in the away end.

a bunch of kids and free transfers will play for the shirt. the manager may make a few changes at halftime if he needs to. the football won't be all pretty passes, but they'll be organised, mark man to man and they'll have practiced set pieces.

i'll listen to 5live in the car on way home and remember when The Arsenal used to be like that...

Up at 4.00 am. Head up to airport with my brother. Flight at 7.40. Should be down around Finsbury Park about 10.30. Breakfast in Arsenal café on Blackstock Road then boozer til 2.30. Stroll to ground hopefully in sunshine. Then match cant wait, genuinely looking forward to it. My love for Arsenal cant be weakened by Wenker. Straight to airport after match for 8 o'clock flight. Back in Wexford for 11.30, if not too tired will go to local for last orders.

3-0 Home win. Giroud 2 and Wally 1

Make sure I've got that funny whistle, the shot-gun is loaded and that there are plenty of spare bullets to hand. As long as my aim is up to scratch I'll be hoping to bring home lots of our feathered friends!! :barscarf:

I am taking my six year son to his first ever Arsenal match on Saturday. I think it will be a spot of lunch up town and then to the ground to show him around before kick off. He is really excited now and I have to keep remembering this. Its so easy at the moment to be perma negative about the club but I don't want this to effect his big day. Otherwise the little git might go off and support the swamp dwellers down the road
