The ticket thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Family enclosure/ young guns/siver membership questions

Post by Theoperator »

:rubchin: :rubchin:

Sorry to ask, but am really struggling to get to understand the rules/ process for all this-

Doesnt help that the website area for this has Gervinho leaping for the ball still :banghead:
http://www.alwaysaheadofthegame.com/fam ... ure-policy

Son and daughter are 15 &16, should have been members for ages, but for various reasons have only just got to join. If only I had realised the benefits of joining sooner- it would have been an easier decision if i had lived nearer

So they can see matches and book tickets, but they want to go with me, however I cant get tickets as you probably all know till 1m before a match, but they can get 2months before. so the chance of a ticket anywhere near to them is almost non existant.

As far as I can see Young guns stalls behind the goal at the clock end is only for 12-16 year olds- hope that works OK right next to travelling fans with no supervision in the stalls bar the stewards between the sets of fans :|

So will they be able to transfer one of the 2 tickets that they can buy to me once red members can buy tickets 1 month before the match (I assume I can pay the difference online?) or are they stuck , I cant see any way for all 3 to go on a Saturday, unless there are still tickets in the family enclosure 1 month before the match which I doubt. maybe we could at a CC match, or midweek where they seem to sell slower.

To be a siver member you need to be a red for a while, is that 3-4 years? I guess it depends how many silver members keep renewing, or leave to upgrade to season ticket holders (and are season ticket holders gold?)

I fear that my 2 have joined too late to go into the Cannon club when they are older than 16, seems things maybe changing there anyway, not too sure what the cannon club means, maybe they can still go to the family enclosure. I suspect as they signed up a bit old they have missed the boat and will drop to red members....

One thng I really like is the ability to actually see the place you will be if you book tickets, thats a great feature.

It just doesnt seem clear from the website, which if its still showing pics of players transferred a few months ago after a relatively unsuccessful spell at the club is a bit worrying?

It was all so easy when I was a lad, Mum or Dad and my brother or I just turned up on the day and bought tickets cash at the turnstiles

Hi

Unfortunely no adults are allowed in the young guns section so no tickets can be transferred to an adult later. I agree that as a red member you have little chance of getting a ticket in the family enclosure sitting with your two kids unless it is for a less glamerous game i.e Hull or a midweek game. You could always wait until red members sale starts and if there is no room in the family enclosuree then buy three tickets upstairs but pay full price. Alternatively you might find someone on here who may be able to lend you the odd silver membership to use now and again.

I haven't managed to get any Red tickets this season so far, just keep missing them on exchange as click on the seat and it's already gone. There was a club level one for the Norwich game, but that was some insane price, £170 or something!
Plus the club banned Red members who joined after the season started from being eligible for any Red tickets, even on Exchange, for the Dortmund game. I find that really unfair. I paid the same as those who joined earlier.

I've never bought a ticket other than via the official site or on Exchange, so I'm not a 'trusted buyer' on here, so will just have to watch on TV. (How do I become a trusted buyer if I don't get a chance to buy ever because I"m not one? Catch 22, although I understand people don't want to get ripped off)

you dont have to be a trusted buyer to get tickets from guys here. i think you just need to be an active member here with 20 posts to make a request. coming from the states, i used the board and bought single away tickets from a couple of members here, just communicate well and meet face to face if possible. i actually found working through the forum to be easier then getting tickets through the club.

thanks, will keep trying. No luck so far.
Just lost out on Exchange again too, another phantom seat. My mac doesn't work well with the Arsenal ticket site.

Have you tried looking/putting a request in the Ticket Section of the forum?

Yes, but no luck so far. I rang Arsenal ticketing to moan about the website not displaying the seating guide properly on my computer & they said no-one else had had problems. I use a mac, and have tried Firefox, Chrome and Safari. All show the seating chart either microscopic or huge and unmoveable. By the time I manage to correct the displayed image and click on a seat, it's gone
Anyone else found a fix for this please?

Edit: finally got one top of North Bank for the Norwich game but had to phone Arsenal for help. They said use IE as browser..... :banghead: finally got Firefox to work. Safari and Chrome wouldn't.

Seems easy enough.
Anyone used it yet?

No, but if the club's transfer activity is anything to go by, I'd imagine you have to bid at least 80% under value, moan for a bit and then decide to go and watch Man City or Napoli instead.

Load'a bollocks. There's no incentive to use it. You have to pay to use it, AFC determine which games to open it for and you can only use it after the game has sold out? Sounds useful. For example they've given us a whole 2 day window between now & the Norwich game to use it

Could be done a whole lot better if they were actually concerned with helping fans and not with making yet another quick buck.

i dont get why the game has to sell out first, the club isnt losing money on the exchange, right?! they charge a transaction fee right? so if i come along and want to buy a ticket in the lower from a ST holder and not wait for the upper where all the red members have to sit this doesnt hurt the club. or am i way off base?

The club want to sell all their tickets first. So there could be literally one or two seats left in a shit area that no one wants to buy and everyone has to wait til they are sold before ticket exchange opens coz the club doesn't want to lose out on a hundred pound

They would get more on the admin fees charging both the seller and buyer if they opened ticket exchange

We are talking about a corporate entity (there I go again - sorry, club) that took legal action against a hat maker in Spain because she had "Arsenal" in the title of her shop or some such shite. Same club tried (unsuccessfully thank fuck) to copyright the word "Gooner", a word they openly despised not too long ago... :|
