Newcastle Meet...

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The Gate is your best bet. Loads of bars inside, Tiger Tiger and a load of other bars just outside...it's a shambles basically. There's also a casino round the back, I took a fair bit out of it - not as much as Phil Bardsley did mind 8)

Down at the bottom there are more bars (it's a hill down from The Gate) then if you turn right that's where the "classy" bit is. I use that word with a LOT of licence.

We stayed in the Marriott MetroCentre which is about a 10 min cab away from the town centre, if you're willing to do it that way you will save a feckload on your hotel compared with the city centre. They don't care about large groups either.

Think it was brought up on another thread a few weeks ago, probably worth contacting OP and seeing how it panned out for him. From what I recall the general consensus was just head out into town and wing it, certainly in my experience everywhere will be lively on a Saturday night and ask Skizz says unlike most places they don't give a shit about letting large groups of blokes in.

And that. be aware though that

a) you'll stand out like a sore thumb if you're not in a short sleeved shirt and
b) the locals will probably laugh at you if you have anything long sleeved on, let alone a coat
