At the bottom of one of the big Ads it had I think an 'options' button which I clicked and it then showed a message which gave me a choice to continue seeing the ads or not. I switched 'active' to 'inactive' but nothing seemed to change. Once I got out of the page and clicked on another thread the side Ads had gone!! Although the small coloured ones remain.
