Maybe we care, maybe we don't. But it has huge significance for MU or da Pool.
First of all you have the reward of £25/£30m for qualifying for CL. That's 5 players on £100k a week. Everything now is sponsorship linked. Apparently every deal is a quarter less without champs league participation.
Don't like either club, but admire their sense of entitlement. Liverpool definitely need it more. Not qualifying could actually finish them. FSG could cut and run in a shot. I'm always telling my pals AV and NF have European cups as well.
MU have more cash but the money they are shelling out is frightning. Between RVP, RF and AdM the are burning it at a massive rate. The guts of a million a week.
I 'd have sacked AW after the 8-2 at OT, but he does get a raw deal sometimes. 4th is not a trophy, but it is a prize. Of the most vulgar sense. Cold hard cash, which let's admit, keeps the show on the road.
Are they both too big too fail???

And after that result, would it surprise you if it was us?StuartL wrote:A level Spuddy ?SPUDMASHER wrote:Unless my maths has got a bit awry it could actually still be us.![]()

If ever the Mancs needed any additional inspiration to have a go at our powder puffs they got it tonight

They did indeed.SteveO 35 wrote:If ever the Mancs needed any additional inspiration to have a go at our powder puffs they got it tonight
Too late I reckon, but we've given them encouragement which a bit annoying.

Yes. I'd be surprised.SPUDMASHER wrote:And after that result, would it surprise you if it was us?StuartL wrote:A level Spuddy ?SPUDMASHER wrote:Unless my maths has got a bit awry it could actually still be us.![]()
4pts from Sunderland and WBA at home seems more than achievable. And that's assuming we lose at OT.
Re: The battle for 4th
Seen us do this all before......Sunderland will also do a job on us and ensure a trouser throbbing final day to match those scenes of unbridled joy at St James's and The Hawthorns. It's going to be us isn't it?
Gone from looking nailed on for 2nd to hanging on to 3rd and avoiding a qualifier.
Shocking situation.

3 pts at home to Swansea also seemed more than achievable. So if Manure beat us we need four points minimum from a resurgent Sunderland that are fighting for their lives and West Brom who are about the same level as Swansea.
If I were to be honest I think we'll be okay for third but I've seen us rescue a defeat from the jaws of victory many times. With this team, the one that can beat Man City away but lose at home to Swansea, anything is possible.
Re: The battle for 4th
even if we lose to them fuckers next sunday we will sill win our two home games and get 3rd , let someone else play that bloody CL qualifier game for a change

Re: The battle for 4th
AS long as Wonga gets his 4th place trophy he will think the season is a success, he is happy with 4th shows his ambitions, lots of money for the board for qualifying no threat of the sack he is laughing all the way to the bank.

4th place trophy it is then, probably suit yankee Stan ,extra home game, and probably qualifying games on tv ,so he's quids in,tv money and gate money.Bought Sanchez last season for 33m ,Sanchez scores the goal that gets us into the qroup stage, estimated 25m for qualifying (I think )so Sanchez only cost 8m .Lovely jubbly
