Champions League

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

And the Arabs are extending the capacity? the biggest collection of plastic seats in the world. WANKERS,
Isn't it mad that when City were a joke club playing at Maine Road big FA and even League Cup games there had a good atmosphere. City fans then considered themselves the "local team " . I remember being at Highbury in 1994 for the Arsenal V Torino ECWC quarter Final and seeing a City Flag in the away support. I read later that there was a loose connection between both sets of supporters because they both believed they were the club of their city but lived under the shadow of as media hyped tourist magnet club.
Now there is no atmosphere at The Etihad and a blase attitude from their fan-base. Manure fans are taking comfort in the fact that even if City are winning more they cannot sell out a stadium with 20,000 seats less than Old Trafford.

Some weird paradox going on there alright considering they had less trouble selling out when they were s.hite and sliding down the divisions than they do now after all the success.

I know that we too are guilty of that line of thinking, but I really cannot understand it :? I really dont care if we are winning trophies but are failing to sell all our tickets for home games, and any kind of moral high ground has long since disappeared in the modern football world where suing a hat shop lady owner in spain doesnt even cause any embarrassment  When we were winning trophies on a regular basis, did it bother any Gooner that we were not the biggest club in england ? Sure as shit didnt bother me anyway.
In our case, failing to win trophies and seeing half empty stadiums is actually good as it sends a message out to the club

Fuck Manchester City, horrible monstrosity of a club. Fuck their "pre match fan zone", leading the move away from a football match being a sporting spectacle and into a day's wallet-sapping entertainment bonanza. Fuck them, I hope Bayern/Benfica, Barcelona/Atletico, or Real Madrid smash the shit out of them.

Whenever I get embarrassed about the way things are heading with Arsenal, at least I can look north and see that we don't have it quite as bad as them. Yet.

Simeone is THE answer to our problems, well him and getting rid of the board et Al.

I fucking LOVE Simeone's Atletico team. They PLAY for the shirt, for the fans, for each other, and more importantly, they play for the manager. Not the most skilled team but they fucking put it all on the line, despite the fucking cheating ass refs.

That was such a great display of team cohesion. Fuck everyone who says they are boring. To me, they are the the opposite of boring. Seeing them work as a unit is a joy to watch after what we've had to view with AW's Arsenal the last 10 years.

The shit football that Simeone coaches sure seems to be producing the desired results more often than not.

Robin L will disagree, of course.

There will always be clubs worse off that shouldnt take our minds off what a messed up situation we are in. Plenty of other fans taking the piss all day long every day. So pathetic

Simeone's Athletico have just completely nullified the "best team in the history of football"

Honestly though the heart , passion , concentration and total willingness to win is something like I've never seen in modern football.

Hope they win it.
