Champions League

Post by Nos89 »

Well done Man City on getting to the semi final. It's good to see a new team to break the European domination of the super, super clubs.

We had our chance and blew it.
Hope to see a City v Athletico final.
Now when are we playing Norwich?

Don't really give a shit about City, by far the lesser of any evils of our domestic rivals but is it really that refreshing to see a team full of greedy wankers who has chucked about as much money as they have do okay for once in Europe?

Good win against PSG but PSG are an overrated side full of part-time prima donnas. If City come up against Madrid, Bayern or Barca it'll be Bumholing Central.

Have to agree. City will be found out by any of those three clubs..

De Bruyne is a stellar player. Chelsea made a huge mistake selling him. IMO he's better than Hazard and has been for about a year now.

Don't see them getting past Barca or Bayern, but they could beat either Madrid team over two legs I think.

Couldn't care less about that competition. It's a corrupt, fraudulent joke and has been ever since the 1950s. UEFA won't rest until they get their Real Madrid- Barcelona final which they've been trying to manufacture for years. It amazes me that even after all these years, the two of them still haven't been drawn together at any stage earlier than the semi-final. If they had their way, they'd just let those two play in a one-off game every year.

It's a corruptly refereed, ego-fest for billionaire owners and millionaire players.

To be fair my left bollock has been a better footballer than Hazard this past year.

Dunno about you lot but I'm already creaming my pants at the prospect of 6 more Group Stage games in the autumn.
Thank fuck we moved to The Emirates or my life would be so empty.

if Man City finishes fifth in PL, wins the CL, Arsenal finishes 4th, then we are out of the CL.

The look on Wengers face if that happened would be worth it.

I was wanting them to lose, and to be honest, PSG have only themselves to blame if they played the same way in the whole match as they did in the last few minutes of the first half, they needed a goal and were just passing the ball around in their own half instead of getting it up the pitch. They may have been thinking, get to half time 0-0 now, but getting to half to one nil up and putting pressure on City would have been preferable.

Breaking from the expected opinions, I would actually like to see citeeh win the champs league 8) Aguero is, in my opinion, one of the top 3 players in the world for the past 4 or 5 years, and I would be happy to see them win a champs league for him.
I also know that citeeh winning the champs league will piss off an awful lot of manure fans, and that would be a great source of enjoyment for me too

As I mentioned in the wenger thread I flicked through arseblog this morning and I found this pearler re barca in champs league -

"UEFA, as we know, like to keep things on brand as much as possible. The most potent strike force in Europe inspires kids and advertisers and sponsors across the world with their football brilliance. What role models too. A bitey racist, and two men whose tax returns would make Harry Redknapp’s dog weep. Truly these are the men to whom our young people should look up to."

Many of you know that I am no fan of arseblog (due to his continual kissing of wenker's arse ) but I have to say that I nearly pissed myself reading that
