A solution for the atmosphere to improve at the grove

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

As im going to uni within a stones throw of the emirates next season I doubt il be able to go as far as what your saying with home games but with away games mate I agree with you. I think it will be easy to build up credits, i've got 6 credits on mine and my dads membership and were red members so once there transferred over to a travel club membership I recon I can get up to at least 15 next season and from there it will be easy to build on that the season after.

Also just generally keeping an eye on the ticket pages, the last 3 away games ive gone to including this saturday coming ive got tickets where they have just reappeared on sale for whatever reason.

BUT THAT'S THE THING MIKE - PEOPLE THAT USED TO AVOID GOING TO THE LESS GLAMOUROUS MATCHES ARE NOW PURCHASING THE TICKETS TO SELL ON, SPECIFICALLY IN ORDER TO BUILD UP THEIR CREDITS. THEREFORE THE OPPORTUNITIES TO BUY TICKETS FOR EVEN THE SO CALLED 'SMALL GAMES' WILL BECOME FEWER.

I UNDERSTAND THE POINT YOU WERE MAKING ABOUT GOING TO AWAY GAMES, BUT I WAS TRYING TO SHOW THAT IT WOULDN'T BE AS EASY OR AS PRACTICAL TO GET TICKETS AS IT MAY AT FIRST APPEAR - ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WITH HARDLY ANY CREDITS TO THEIR NAME.

Well I can only go by this season and previous seasons, most less 'glamorous away games' have gone down to zero credits. Blackburn (twice), Sheffield United, Wigan, Bolton, Burnley to name a few. Over time, they soon add up!

Fuck off!

I'm a gold member but had no chance to get ONE credit. I do sing as well unlike some of the older Gold members...

I too have been enjoying life as an away fan for several years (until last October, when I moved to Australia!). Anyway, I easily got tickets for away games through the travel club, sometimes even on the day of the match (e.g. Everton). It was very easy to build up away credits, especially in the Carling Cup runs, which was very enjoyable to watch as all the current first team came through from the reserve squad.

When you build up away credits, you get invitations from the club to things like members days and also the CC finals, that was nice to get a specific invitation.

I think it is really unfair when people abuse the system to get credits though, it is no better than being a tout

Cos I'm at work when we play Liverpool in CL and I use my membership to get a ticket for a friend who only has 10 credits and make no money out of it, I'm no better than a tout. I don't fucking think so. I hate touts and I don't like being compared to one
