BENCH: MANNONE, FRIMPONG, MERIDA, BENDTNER, RODGERS, BARTLEY, SONG.
I thinks thats slightly too inexperienced
normally wenger throws a few first teamers into the mix
I bet song and bendtner want to play!

I bet they do too, though I was just concerned that with Song and Bendtner having played on Saturday would Wenger want them to play another game so soon?

Maybe then he starts with them and if we get a decent lead he will sub them with 20 mins to go.

Arsène Wenger may name the youngest first-team side in Arsenal’s history for the Carling Cup tie against Sheffield United on Tuesday.

It is now normal for the Frenchman to send out youngsters in this competition however, against the Blades, Alex Song (21), Nicklas Bendtner (20), Johan Djourou (21) and Lukasz Fabianski (23) are likely to be the ‘old heads’.

Wenger intends the field to include a raft of 17, 18 and 19-year-olds. Rising star Jack Wilshere, age 16 years 266 days, is likely to start his first competitive game for the Club. But he may not be the youngest Arsenal player on show. Speaking to Arsenal TV Online on Monday, Wenger suggested he may include first-year scholar Emmanuel Frimpong. He is a full nine days younger than Wilshere.

“There is a possibility [it will be the youngest side ever],â€

Fabianski, Djourou, Song, Ramsey,Bendtner have a fair amount of experience between them to not really have anything to worry about against a sheffield side.
JD's side is roughly what I would pick and you are right, I think this side is at least strong enough for this tie.

Where have Chippy and Crocit gone ??
As i've said before, unlike some sad fuckers   I do not live on the site so quite happy to see someone else start the thread.

I tend to the argument that he will not play the experienced guys unless he really has to. The last thing we need is any more injuries. :x I think the youngsters can do it. :barscarf:

didn't bother to get tickets for this and see Sky have got Swansea v Cardiff :? All you interweb geeks need to be posting links for the game when you can please.

I hope Simpson starts. I think the carling cup is benith Bendtner now. I think wenger will want to really give simpson a chance. This is the last year of his contract so it's now or never. And the only way he can stake a claim is if he plays. and the carling cup is his only chance.

Song will probaly play, but not sure if it would be mid field or defence. A Song Djourou CB pairing would be quite strong.

wish i got a cheap tik when i had the chance now...

i dont see why sky dont do a football first thing with all the carling games?

Ok. I have a dilema.

I have never seen arsenal lose when i have seen them play. The only time this has been disputed was a few years back at highbury when we drew on the night but got knocked out on goal diffrence to some eastern european team.

Although i have all faith in the lads for tonight.... sorry i mean wee nippers for tonight. I also fear my record will be broken. But if we do lose can i discard the match for my record purposes as in reality it is just a reserve/youth match?
