Their midfield were terrible, overrun and outnumbered. There were a lot of United myths exposed , I would say only Vidic and Rooney to a lesser degree kept their heads above water. Great to see Evra shut up, what a prick he is.
Whatever we think of Barca's conduct at times their football is amazing and it would be complete begrudgery to say otherwise. Still if Saint Nick had made a name for himself in the Nou Camp they would have been gone in March...
No its sums up how shit we are and what an idiot we have as a manager.Utd have a trophy to look back on we have a CL qualifying game to look forward to.And if we are relying on a usless *word censored* like Bendtner to win a game that shows how low we have fallen

I thought Barca were good last night, without ever reaching the level we all know they are capable of. They only occasionally got out of 2nd gear - because they didn't need to, United being so poor. In fact, I think Barca proved what we've been saying all season. This is a very poor United team..... The sooner everyone in England realises that the better!
Proving the point for me was when Ferguson needed a miracle he brought on......Scholes !
There also has to be a bit of praise to Arsenal, that we at least tested Barca. For all Ferguson's tactical nous, it was Wenger who got the closer to coming up with a plan to beat the mighty catalans!

I love the way Nick's always moaning about being played on the wing & telling us how his best position is up top in the middle. Well his biggest ever opportunity came right smack bang down the middle of the Nou Camp & he took it with all the conviction of a drunkard at throwing out time
Useless crunt.
Also, if you watch that clip again keep an eye on Jack's face as Bentdner fumbles it to Mascherano, it's priceless lol.
When we tried to take Barca on at their own game, we beat them but we all know that we should have been 3 or 4 down at half time. People kept saying that we were crazy to try and outpass them.
Ferguson tried a 4-4-2 last night and during the first half he kept telling Rooney and Hernandez tp get wide apart upfront so that Utd could try hitting long balls to them and therefore bypassing Barca's pressing in midfield. This didn't work either so it just means that unless you have skillful players who have magnificent engines or a Mourinho disciplined Italian side.....HOW THE FUCK DO YOU BEAT THEM?!?!?!

9 times out of 10, i believe they can't be beaten. Their game is almost perfect in all areas & if they keep this group together they can dominate European football for the next 5 years at least. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they won the CL consecutively for the next few years. I think Mourinho is the only guy who can set his team out to stop them but even then I think it only works if he has a certain type of player making up his squad. It worked for Inter as i think Italian football is naturally more defensive minded, whereas you could see it was totally not something Real were used to doing.
When we beat them it was a rare occasion where everything came together pretty much perfectly in our game. We managed to defend well, albeit with a bit of luck for the disallowed Messi goal & used the ball well when we had it. However I think the chances of us playing that well against them ever again are slim & i believe if we played that exact team 10 more times, we'd beat them maybe once.
Yep, you're right Dan. I actually applaud Ferguson for trying the 4-4-2 but he just had the wrong players in the midfield 4 who couldn't live with Barca, but like you say, then again who can?
The other thing that stood out again last night was how far behind Barca we are in trying to copy their game. Yes, they keep possession in the middle like we do but that's where the similarities begin and end. In an instant they turn that possession into a killer run and/or pass...we can't because with the exception of a fully focused and fit Fabregas (there's a tongue twister if ever I heard one) we don't have the quality.
And of course 2 goals last night from shots outside the box. I really really really do hope Wenger took notice of that and starts the shooting practice in pre-season training. We all know that our game has been sussed out and that the opposition suffocating the middle means we're less effective. So if you can't see a pass and you're 20 yards from goal...HIT THE BLOODY THING, particularly if Gomes is between the sticks!
I really enjoyed last night, it still grates on me that United won the PL and we helped them by self destructing but last night they got put in their place by those wankers.
One thing I did realise after last night, we didn't do that bad against Barcelona, United had a fully fit squad and a fair ref but got battered, in two years at the Nou Camp we had half our first team out and this year we could argue that we had a harsh sending off straight after we got back in it and were leading, United have nothing to hide behind, shame.

They can hide behind the premiership trophy
For the 1,000th time we didnt have one shot in the Nou Camp a CL record that is nothing to be proud of
Makes no difference, we were leading the tie, that is the only stat which would have mattered had we held on to the match with van Persie on the pitch.
Yes, United can hide behind the PL title but that has no relivance to the events of last night or does it in some sort of secret code that I can't unlock?

Why do you keep bringing that up? It isnt relevant to last night, you sound like a United fan ffs.
It was nice to see United put in their place by arguably one of the best teams in the last 5-10 years. And we did do a little better against Barcelona, though I reckon they underestimated us. But at the end of the day, Man Utd has played with more consistency and resolve and won the PL and we look a bit daft going around saying "We did better in one game against one team than you did".
How do you beat Barcelona? Stubborn defense, pacey fullbacks, and take your chances when they arise. Expect to play the counter attack because they are possession masters. Don't go down two or you're done. You have to get a good ref who won't buy their shit too much, too.
They're not invincible, and they've shown their frailities at times, but they are a fantastic squad with good versatility and incredible depth.

Memory may be playing tricks on me, but I thought that Mourinho's Inter side didn't have any Italians in it.....?
