At this point I had to ask..... who is this "best midfielder in Europe?" even though I had this terrible embarrassed feeling that I already knew the answer..... and yep, fucko Derek pops up with:
"Jordan Henderson".
I actually laughed out loud. I just said "no he's not lads. No. Not by any stretch of the imagination".
I also asked how Klopp, loser in 6 out of 7 finals, is a "big game specialist"?
We then went into a little game of spot the armchair fan.
Derek: "he's won more than Emery".
Me: "no he hasnt".
John: "he's won more than Wenger".
Me: "no he hasn't".
At this point they swiftly changed the subject to Roy Keane and the Oirish national team debacle. I just sat there wrapped up warmly in a nice layer of smugness.

well I did say that last season which was of course a different era.
now that we once again have a manager they have already taken their rightful place below us in the league table.
Talking of the grievers, because of their lack of success in the premiership since it's inception I had quite forgotten what a bunch of overbearing condescending bunch of pricks their fans are .
When they almost won the league before that slip up by the public battering Huyton hooligan, they came rising up though the sewers from every corner of the globe and reminded me of how much I despised them back in the day !

They’ve had a huge huge amount of luck domestically but they have quietly become very good at the back. Van Dijk is an absolute colossus and if you only need one goal to win most games then it’s not often Salah, Mane and Firmino won’t generate that.
Still think City are a much better team but if Liverpool get anywhere near the same sort of return second half of the season it will go down to the wire.
