10 points out of 21. We will fall out of the top 5 if not careful.John F wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 7:38 amI went to this having finally been successful in a premier league ballot. The atmosphere would of been better if the players didnt keep having Tea breaks at every set play killing any crowd noise that was starting to build up.That does not excuse the mass exodus on 80 minutes. It is a nightmare outside but that was embarressing.
What was unusual was the strange crop circles left on the pitch in the area Odegaard was playing.
I do not think the top 4 is a done deal. I am worried about an Emery style collapse at the end of the season. We still have the dippers and the headchoppers to play that could potentially lose us six points and put us in trouble.

Agree 100%. I've always believed in momentum, we should have had a real spring in our step (see what i did thereJohn F wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 7:38 amI went to this having finally been successful in a premier league ballot. We didn't however and there's always the chance we will now take last nights lack of momentum into the Madrid game, so Arteta is going to have to do something he has previously struggled to do ie make sure we are on the ball from the off, otherwise we will find ourselves with the impossible task of defending a one goal lead after 20 mins and a team with no idea how to pick it up.
Then followed by a deflated plge collapse.

Are the injuries we seem to get EVERY single game down to bad luck, coincidence or something else?
I swear I'll watch a whole weekend of PL games and apart from contact injuries I'll barely see anyone going down 'feeling something' and yet we're unable to finish a game with 11 players as they drop like flies. Genuinely hard to fathom

Ohdergaard is utterly shit. Fast becoming my host hated player with havertz given his ineffectiveness and slowing down of every attack with far too many touches. Get rid he's not good enough
I thought trossard showed himself a few times in first half and made some decent shots/runs but can see why the criticism. But then he's a player who thrives on fast ball and completely nullified Vs low block if we move it slow.
Golf time now.
Fast becoming ?? He is miles out on front as my most hated player - there are other players worse than him for sure, but the fact that he is captain, and the fact that he is a big favourite of the cone boy and always plays despite going missing in every big game, has him top of my list for sure. I remember two years ago being slated for daring to criticise the disappearing captain, and this isnt me saying that I am right and others were wrong, but I find it baffling that he is being criticised now for taking too many touches when he hasnt changed his game at all and was taking those touches back then too

What I find more baffling is last season we hardly got any injuries, timber went out early doors and maybe jesus and tomi but can't remember many others, same as season before.SteveO 35 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 11:43 amAre the injuries we seem to get EVERY single game down to bad luck, coincidence or something else?

Maybe a change in training or just shit luck who knows, a lot of teams have had a few injuries though, the spuds had loads, man shitty too, manure have had a few, the chavs as well.
Zhirkzee done his hamstring yesterday, maybe just too many games what with all these shit international games and the bloated champs league.
The victims seem to have avoided them and that's with a lot of their core players playing almost every mi ute.
Like I pointed out on another thread Gabriel was 54th in most played minutes, van dyke is 5th, salad 8th, most of the top 5 are keepers, we have ONE player in the top 25 and that's Raya at number 1.
Edit
Just checked again, the top 5 are tied on 2880 mins so van dyke is joint 1st.

Back to the "if only we had a proper striker" conversation, as we have been setting up chances
Re: Brentford bulbeyes H Sat April 12th KO 530pm
Last time the victims won the league during COVID I think TAA, Van Dijk and Robertson played virtually every game, but there was such a massive break in the season I sort of dismissed it. Van Dijk just seems to be there constantly now and this for a man who had one very serious injury a year or two backLeftfootlegendGooner wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 9:02 amWhat I find more baffling is last season we hardly got any injuries, timber went out early doors and maybe jesus and tomi but can't remember many others, same as season before.SteveO 35 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 11:43 amAre the injuries we seem to get EVERY single game down to bad luck, coincidence or something else?

Jorginho has barely played a minute and look like he was utterly fucked and an injury waiting to happen (before it did).
White seems unable to play back to back games, Partey seems in and out despite a virtually unblemished record before joining us. Tomiyasu is a write off.
I trust the professionals to do their jobs and with sports science research and analysis these days, I'd like to think our record is more down to bad luck than anything else. I'd like to think that training becomes light at this stage of the season as those that have played dozens of game already have the match fitness levels. I hope to bloody God that Madrid don't do us 3-0 because 120 minutes of football would see us end up with about 8 fit players !
