As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I have been reading that Havertz is coming in to replace Clive. Why ffs we have a proven talent in Smith Rowe ready for that and if he gets injured Trossard can play there. Playing for the Chavs Havertz misses more chances than Jesus, and has the same tackle as a Eunuch. What is not to like? The only thing more baffling this week than Arteta going in for Havertz was Stokes declaring yesterday.
I thought Rice was being touted to play the further forward midfield role - his ball winning higher up the pitch etc being impressive. Assuming we get Caicedo or Lavia or Zubimendi for the holding role.
I too think / thought Smith Rowe with his ball carrying ability and eye for goal would excel in that position and as you state Trossard (or Jesus ) could easily play there, high energy, pressing, skilful ball players, if we bought an out and out striker as a 9.
I don’t get the Havertz bid, I understand strength in depth but paying €60m odd for a sub / squad player when we have other needs is quite perplexing.

Yeah, probably keeping our eye on it so that when Chelsea tie up the deal, we'll know how much we might have to bid for Havertz.
He'd said that earlier - b&stard is just twisting the knife now
Oops
Mac the knife eh ?
Ooof, clever Stuart. Liking that one.
Did you know it was originally a German song? 1920s ish, I think.
I wasn’t, till I looked it up - I didn’t even know who sung the version I remember ( Bobby Darin) found also a Louis Armstrong idea too on YouTube
Darrin and Armstrong are the two versions that you'll hear played most, but it was performed/recorded by no end of artists, some of whom get mentioned in those American versions. One of those mentioned is Lotte Lenya, who was an Austrian singer/actress, who also played Rosa Klebb in the Bond film From Russia With Love...the assassin with the knives in her shoes.
