The problem is you when you get into a whole fuss about "The Board", it is like some sort of mad switch gets switched in your brain and you start pouring out all this psychological babble and personal abuse.
Your non-board posts tend to be short and involve some genuine humour.
My problem with martin is not so much his obsession with the board. It's his total rudeness toward anyone he perceives as an "enemy".
Personally, I laugh at his abusive behaviour.
He can fire as many insults in my direction as he pleases. It's funny. And shows him up as a childish person.
However, I know that other people on here have been very upset by his rudeness toward them.
I'm basically a very tolerant person. But I do object to arrogance and abusiveness. Which is why I, and others have taken issue with him.
Martin, I know you will read this. I will happily say this to your face next time you are in London.

I would have no problem with reading a long post if it is written with a high standard of grammar, vocabulary and is well structured.
Also, devoid of pedantry.
Trust me I really have clashed with Cockerill's Chin on the subject of the Middle East.
Thing is that those threads did not involve personal abuse despite massive differences of opinion and some failure to even agree on facts.
Though there were many long posts, people took care to write clearly and logically, probably because the subject matter was both complex and sensitive.
There also was an attempt to understand and expand on other's posts, and progress towards some sort of positive way forward.
No that the politicians read this Forum, but simply because it must be better than incessant disagreement.
Opinions can be passed on to others in conversations away from this Forum and in some very vague way influence public opinion.

Quartz I think the same could be said of our discussions by and large. Though we clearly both did lobby claims against the other we each would object to, we clearly were able to have discussions that were long detailed and while in our case did not result in some sort of consensus on which to move forward did not on their own result in the sort of disruptively chaotic scenes the behavior of Olgit and others creates.
Seeing his behavior toward me I would think the same way too gnueymrgnu1958 wrote:my i add a few words?QuartzGooner wrote:USMartin

That is exactly the point - Olgit is quite possibly maybe even quite probably a very good friend but if you cross him in anyway he's even better at being an enemy because there are no rules of conduct he holds himself to in how he treats others in my exoerience.

To a point, but then you started firing insults at me and others and making the thread cyclical and pedantic, to the detriment of the argument.USMartin wrote:Quartz I think the same could be said of our discussions by and large. There is no need for that behaviour.
Anyway, if you do have this "Smoking Gun" secret piece of information about the club, I reckon this Forum is all ears, because there is no game for a week and we need something to fill the time!

Disagree respectfully. I think we have if anything behaved much the same way toward one another. We may both be right in that or wrong in that but I think splitting hairs here doesn't help.QuartzGooner wrote:To a point, but then you started firing insults at me and others and making the thread cyclical and pedantic, to the detriment of the argument.USMartin wrote:Quartz I think the same could be said of our discussions by and large. But I do want to make one thing clear when I refer to you as an apologist for the Board I want to make clear I am not accusing you in any way or working on behalf of the Board but simply as someone whose loyalty to the club and Board leads you to defend their every position and policy I happily apolgize to you if that comment has been taken out of its intended context and suggested in my mind wrtongly or unfairly that you were representing the club itself in your comments to this forum as that is not the intent of that comment. I believe once I suggested otherwise along the lines of your accusation against me, but I need to make clear I do not in fact believe that to be the case. I just believe you let your loyalty trump your objectivity which we all do at times.
Sorry but if a Lemon Party is what I think it will be a prty ofone - not my bag baby...Its Up 4 Grabs Now wrote:olgitgooner wrote:In that case, I will very much look forward to meeting you martin.USMartin wrote:It's a date then!Jesus Christ, I think the OG forum's about to have its first lemon party!!!mrgnu1958 wrote:my i add a few words?
