Maybe we will attack a wobbly United, go 3-5-2 from the start, get an early 2 goal lead.
And pigs may fly.

They have Mata, Rooney and RVP fit - something they havnt had for months. All three have good goalscoring records against Arsenal too.
This is by no means an easy fixture and im expecting a very, very tight game.

Agree that it will be a tight game however they 3 players have played together last 2 games and they have looked very averageBendtners Drinking Buddy wrote:They have Mata, Rooney and RVP fit - something they havnt had for months. All three have good goalscoring records against Arsenal too.

yeah - no one to control the midfield and win the ball for them. though i'm quite we'll give them the ball enough times that Moyes will revert to punt and run.scotgooner wrote:Agree that it will be a tight game however they 3 players have played together last 2 games and they have looked very averageBendtners Drinking Buddy wrote:They have Mata, Rooney and RVP fit - something they havnt had for months. Moyes will have them hoofing in the crosses, in this v strong wind.
I am going to go nuts if we dont win this one. We know they'll lift their game against us and that little boy Robin always scores. But saw a stat that we're the only one of the top 9 to have lost to them this season. We can go top again and bury them,so if the players can't lift themselves for that, then I give up and will take up curling or something

3-5-2 might be a bit difficult with only two fit centre backs.foxinthebox2001 wrote:Maybe we will attack a wobbly United, go 3-5-2 from the start, get an early 2 goal lead.

and only one striker...

Sadly I think you will be 100% right,as shit as United are and as much as logic says we should win we've all seen Arsenal choke against them time and time again.markyp wrote:we will freeze as always,it will be the same old shit from the last 8 years, how can anybody think it will be any different??

This game is a must-win but we also have to put in a convincing performance.
What was our last impressive league performance? Imo you have to look back to November for Cardiff away (not that we were amazing there, but we flew out the blocks, took our goal well and controlled the game very comfortably, picking them off towards the end as they had to push for an equaliser - it was clinical).
Since then we have rarely played well. Napoli, Citeh, Cardiff, Southampton, Liverpool - all completely abysmal. Everton and Chelsea were both big opportunities that we failed to take advantage of because we played well within ourselves. We were dire for half of the games against Shammers, Villa, Palace and Fulham in games we should be winning with plenty to spare. It's only really a gritty win up at Newcastle, the Scum cup game and gifts against Hull and Coventry home where we've really put in decent performances in the last two and a half months imo.
The old 'champions performance' cliche has been used by some people to bury the fact that if you don't play well for an extended period of time it will eventually catch up with you. The only way you could possibly expect to win the league playing well below par for huge chunks of the season is to have one or two world class players who will drag you to wins you just don't deserve on a regular basis. We haven't got that and now our chickens are coming home to roost.

I honestly cant see United's form being a factor - they will be bang up for this.
Let's see what Arsenal are made of tonight.

I agree. And tbh I'm worried we'll show them too much respect again and let them win 1-0 (with a goal courtesy of JudasVanFuckPig of coursekiwomya wrote:I honestly cant see United's form being a factor - they will be bang up for this.

You would think after saturdays disgrace wenger would have the players really up for this ,but i wont hold my breath.I expect loads of endless passes sideways and backwards going nowhere.

Does anyone actually think we will win this? We should be able to beat them they are poor apart from their front three but I fully expect a timid Arsenal performance and a 2-0 win to United.

I expect us to dominate possession but come unstuck when it most matters. 2-1 to the mancs
