It is a surprise though that Russia have not staged the world cup before though whereas the USA did long before them despite having little pedigree as opposed to the Russians who have !

True...those Russians do love their football......
To be fair, the Soviet Top League was ranked highly in the 80s in whatever UEFA had as co-efficients at that time. Since WWII, football came on leaps and bounds in the USSR.

TBH I don't think he believes he has done anything wrong, they do say absolute power corrupts absolutely and as he has been THE top man in football for so long he probably thinks he is owed whatever he chooses to take.

The Platini ban made me chuckle though

With UEFA having its own problems with the big clubs essentially holding them to ransom over FFP. A new independant body needs to be put forward, much like when the top clubs broke away from the football league, to form the Premier League. Yet there is no alternative, so, FIFA will exist in its current corrupt form until the member nations break away and start their own footballing body. With all the money being with club football a new start could see an end to international tournament football, which may not be a bad thing.
I still believe what I said above, and no new alternative has even been suggested. This is an ideal time for FIFA, whoever is running it at the moment, to pull the next two world cups. Get themselves in check and reorganise world football. Platini seems to be the George graham in all this...

Any chance that we could start a campaign for Wenger as the president of FIFA and bring in Guardiola to the Emirates? As much as I don't like Wenger's managerial style, he certainly would be a tad sight better than what was on offer.

Not to mention that I'd kill to see Guardiola at the Emirates. Pretty please!

It's amazing to see the old bastard totally delusional that his time isn't up (Sounds familiar  ). They are all a bunch of corrupt bastards and a disgrace to the game.

I wouldn't mind TOF taking over, seeing as he comments on everyone else's business and pockets a king's ransom for doing next to fuck all.

European draws have been rigged':
Ex-FIFA president Sepp Blatter claims to have seen hot and cold balls used to aid cheats.
He makes allegations about European draws.
He says he saw draws where unmarked balls, used to decide tournament fixtures, were refrigerated so they could be identified.
Although Blatter defended FIFA, saying their draws were never rigged

f course, you can mark them (by) heating them or cooling them,' he told La Nacion.

'I witnessed draws at the European level where that happened. But never at FIFA. Of course it can be done.'

Pressed for details by the interviewer, Blatter elaborated.

'You put the balls in the refrigerator beforehand. Just by comparing one and the other when you touch them you can tell the cold balls from the hot. When you touch them, you know what they are.'
