Nasri Contract situation
What a load of crap - he is being paid apparently not to spend. That is why he would be in the meetings. What do you think he forces the Board to acquiesce to him - the same Board that sacked David Dein immedaietly and Lady Bracewell-Smith immediately.TeeCee wrote:Wenger not only sits in on board meetings but DOES have a say in the financial strategy of the club. The AST brought this to light a little while ago. That's a very strange thing to happen because a manager then has a conflict of interests ie: his job is to be successful and to strengthen the team if necessary but if he is overly concerned with finances then it affects his primary job. There you have one of the main issues at Arsenal - Wenger is far too concerned with things that shouldn't concern him. Arsenal pay finance directors etc to look after our finances, Wenger should concentrate on being a manager!!
Why do you think he stayed at Arsenal for seven years being forced to spend what he didn't want to then? Or ifn he did why he suddenly changed and coincidentally enough his employers made in some cases huindreds of millions of pounds in part at least to his shifting policy? Is that mere coincidence or lucky accident? Did they just play the National Lottery or EuroMillions more the unspent transfer money?

This is nasri thread.
I agree with the 'sauraus - if we are unhappy about rosicky and bendtner being on £50k a week then why shouldn't we be unhappy with nasri on £110k? This is absolutely continuing the culture of rewarding failure. If nasri had performed consistently well, turned up in big matches, carried the side when Cesc was out etc then there'd be a case for a pay rise. But he hasn't done any of those things so although it might be for the wrong reasons, the club are right to hold out and sell him at the right price. Of course if he goes he must be replaced with quality.

this is right. He had some good games but was shit 2nd half of season. No passion in his play when the chips are down and offers nothing in terms of leadership or effort at times.LeoGooner wrote:This is nasri thread.

I would sell him in a second if i knew we could get a wide man that can cross the ball and score goals.
Nasri will never play in the middle as we have Cesc, then if Cesc goes it will be jack and ramsey. Nasri is wasted on the right as he isnt best in that role.
plus he is a *word censored* for suggesting he would even go to manure. Though i dont blame him at all

Technically correct but US martina saw the word contract in the thread title so therefore it gives him license to waffle on with his conspirsacy theories(of which he has no proof except what the voices in his head tell him)
I blame him for saying he wants to join Man Utd. What's wrong with keeping quiet? Its disrespectful to say what he said, to Wenger and to the fans. As much as the Cesc thing gets on my nerves, he handles it with a level of dignity which Nasri hasn't.
He should have ignored the question.
The thing is he has a year left on his contract, its a very dangerous game he's playing. Arsenal don't HAVE to sell him. If United came in with 15 million then yes, as its alot for a player out of contract. But we could just sit on him.
I think Nasri owes Wenger an awful lot. Saying about investment is bollocks as the summer has only just begun. He was part of the problem second half of the season, Wenger put a lot of faith in him and given him his chance. To talk about United so openly, no matter what you or I think about Wenger, is a fucking insult to the man

I agree with you, But with a board and a manager that cum in their pants just with the thought of money this will not happen at Arsenal.AFCWozza wrote:Proof that no player is bigger than Arsenal, no player should be allowed to so openly disrespect us as a club. Manchester United are planning a sensational £10million swoop for Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri.
The Mirror has learned that United are exploring the possibility of luring Nasri – who's out of contract at the end of the 2011-2012 season - to Old ÂTrafford in a deal that would enrage Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
United are understood to have outlined their interest in Nasri to a third party, although the France midfielder’s agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes, has not been involved in any preliminary negotiations.
Nasri’s reluctance to enter into talks with Arsenal over a contract extension, until he is satisfied with their spending and recruitment plans for this summer, has alerted the champions to his potential availability.
