The 2nd leg of Juve/Benfica semi-final just finished with Benfica going through, hopefully they atone for bottling the league and 2 finals last year. Remarkably they ended the game with 9 men against Juve's 11.

The league is in the bag but they are in 3 cup finals, Jesus the REAL special one. Takes some doing to pick a team up after losing out so agonizingly in 3 comps. The manager is a bit of a w**ker with his antics but probably loved by his own supporters and hated by everyone else.

Hope the Giovinco to us rumours are bull as he was gash when he came on.

Jeez just seen Jose Antonio Reyes playing in the other semi for Sevilla. I thought he'd retired from football.

He'll be in the final with Sevilla against Benfica.

3 Spanish teams in 2 euro finals, 4 Spanish teams in 4 semis. EPL greatest league in the world my a**e

Europa final Sevilla/Benfica

Post by topgoon »

Couldn't find anywhere else to put this. Just watching the Europa league final

Some excellent box defending in the box from both teams.

J.A. Reyes being his usual frustrating self. still 0-0 16mins to go

Not the worst 0-0 I've ever seen. Just the finishing letting both sides down

Know what you mean, J.A.R had about 4 really good chances, all straight at the goalie.

Just as a matter of interest Leyton where you at Brisbane Rd last night, the atmosphere sounded brilliant.

I was, with an Orient supporting mate and a Posh supporting one as it happens  The atmosphere was superb yes. I remember when I first moved here circa 2000/2001 and my first visit to Brisbane Road was a play off semi final against Hull of all teams (I'm a bit of a plastic I'll happily admit). Orient were 1-0 down from the first leg but produced an excellent performance to turn it round, similar to last night really and the ground was rocking then as well. It's a great little ground on nights like that. Hope they go all the way anyway pleased their fans deserve it. May be at Wembley again for the final if mates can get me a ticket :barscarf:

I was glad to see the posh lose as they have 3 of the most odious w**kers in football associated with them Barry Fry,Adrian Durham and Darragh MacAnthony.

Christ when is someone going to take a chance in this game Bacca wastes a through on goal chance :banghead: :banghead:

How has Tim Sherwood got work as a pundit/commentator already? Obviously realised he wasn't cut out to be a manager so used his time at Spurs to self-publicise and work on PR.

And the moral of the story is run and hit the f**ker you score, tippy toe to the spot and the keeper will guess and you will f**k it up.

Well done Sevilla and the Benfica Guttman curse carries on, it's 2/3rds of the way to the 100yrs, so not long to wait.

Sevilla win it on pens. 2 penalty-takers doing their best Ozil penalty impression and missing after pissing round stopping in the run-up.

Quality on Sevilla's pens was unreal, all 4 absolutely blasted - 3 in the corner 1 in the roof.

Apparently 8 major European cup finals lost on the bounce for Benfica  Should have had enough to see off Sevilla.

They'll have to console themselves with their 965 doemstic titles but yeah, it is a dreadful run in finals.
