Sorry but for all his limitations he is still a starting player for the German national team, saying we'll be better off without him is simply not true.
I dont know how long he's out for but lets say the next 10 games and we'll have a definitive answer.

You wont hear it too often but sometimes i feel sorry for the lad, i mean he's very obviously the squarest of pegs in the roundest of holes but his confidence must be shot at this stage.

Sauce BBQ and The BBC:

Arsenal are the most likely candidate to sign Athletic Bilbao and Spain forward Nico Williams, 22.

When? in 2029 !?

Arsenal
made an enquiry for Stoke City defender Jaden Dixon on transfer deadline day and are continuing to track the 17-year-old England youth player.

Yet another one for Arten Teta's Nearly Signed list when he writes his Autobiography :?

Arsenal decided against recalling Portugal midfielder Fabio Vieira, 24, from his loan spell at Porto after Bukayo Saka injured his thigh.

Well those Cocktail Sticks aren't renowned for their tenacity are they

Nico Williams is going to be our new Benzema isn't he - the 'nearly signed' player from the age of 22 to 37 :D :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

As I've said, I'm glad we didn't make a panic £60 mil signing who we'd be stuck with for 5 years. Even if we'd signed Isak we still wouldnt win anything, a combination of bad luck with injuries and players who are done like jesus, trossard etc would ensure another fruitless season.
I fully expect Arteta to be here next season, so lets give him the rope in the summer to either hang himself or actually achieve what we came so close to last two seasons.
Although I think it will be the prior rather than the latter!

So, Cheaty have got The Mong as their main striker, But they go out in January and spend £59Million on Marmoush who btw scores a Hat-Trick today against a team we hardly had a shot on goal against when we played them TWICE!!!

:rubchin:

Aaaand ! ...

No! That's it...

Other than we Don't have a proper striker...Even if all our players were fit, we still wouldn't have a striker or a back-up striker waiting for his chance... But Cheaty go out and splurge the cash on another player who can score as well as The Mong.

Apparently Zubimendi isn’t coming. Has seen the shit show and can’t see the point of a side with no attack.

But we can hold the moral high ground, not being run by an oil money nation state and doing things 'properly', yeah I know we win fvck all, not even domestic cups anymore but surely doing things right is more important? 🙄.

Yes it feels like really nothing has changed in 15yrs, the top 4 trophy is all that counts, remember we are still paying back that loan on the ground, in Arsene/Arteta we trust/rust, ground hog day?, except we defend better and attack worse.

Sarcasm aside I would say it's not good if the fans get on the players backs, not their fault the clubs board lack ambition, it will be interesting (not sure that's the right word) to see how we get on extending Saliba's contract this summer.

It feels like we're going down the road of Poch's Spuds..

Another bloke that I thought looked half useful, but TOF never gave him a chance and certainly not in his main position. If I remember correctly, Wenger was under pressure to make signings and I always had the feeling that he felt compelled to buy Perez, but then in his spiteful, ego driven, petty way, decided to take it out on the player and punished the poor sod by fucking him about.

Could have signed him now till the end of the season, along with a couple of other free agents. It's absolutely clear that the kid on the bench isn't fancied at all (despite being 22) and we are playing midfielders up top. Are we honestly saying a specialist striker - even one well past their prime - isn't worth considering? I'm sure any of them would be happy with a rolling month to month contract or pay as you play rather than sat on their arses.

We all know it. The people making the decisions don’t. We needed any forward in. I posted a list of unattached players once Havertz got injured. This bloke was one of them and is better than Merino and the 22 year old “youth team prospect” by light years. This Club has had numerous chances to sort this out and is continuing with a central midfielder up front. We have another dozen games plus Europe to go. Where does this end? I think we know. Badly.

I dug my boots out of the garage and have been polishing them. Gone a bit mildewy after all these years and none of these "blades", just proper screw in studs. Sent an email to Mikel saying I'd be happy to play for £50 a match plus a walnut whip and expenses. Told him I'd need a couple of days notice for an away game, because the missus tends to keep the social calendar and I'd have to let her know when I'd be late home and might fuck up arrangements.

Told him I've done a couple of laps around the block (only had to stop 3 times to sit on a garden wall and get me breath back), so fitness should be fine, or certainly up there with most of the squad. I did add that I'm sure I could get injured before the end of my first game and be out for 2 months, because that seems to be how he likes things to work.

Haven't heard back yet, but still optimistic.

Great news, far more generous than I was hoping for, but that’s modern Arsenal, so no complaints from me. I’m just gonna pop up to the loft to try to find my shin pads and jock strap.

Oh btw, I do hope the walnut whip remains part of the deal?
