That quote is me saying we had PSR issues last Summer. Having bought Rice for £100m and a few others. We have just won £300m in prize money. Slightly different position financially now.the playing mantis wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 12:33 pmviewtopic.php?p=1276588&hilit=Psr#p1276588Limerick Gooner wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 12:21 pmWhat are you on about? A few days ago, there was already a meeting between the executives Marcel Schäfer and Andrea Berta in London.
It remains unclear whether #Arsenal are able to afford the full package. Discussions are currently ongoing about a possible payment structure. The release clause is set at over €80 million.
Victor #Gyökeres is still high on the list. The current focus is on Sesko.

Should I assume that means Chelsea have barged past us in the Gyokeres stakes?
If they get Gyokeres and we get Sesko, that could end up as highly embarrassing for Lego Head.
To be honest, if they get Gyokeres, they'll probably sell us Nkunku so that we can honour the contract we clearly have to buy their crap.

The cone boy doesnt want gyokeres so he wont be even slightly embarrassed if he goes elsewhere - the cone boy wants sesko and the fact that he wants him is another red flag for me cos his track record in signing strikers is absolute dogshit

I honestly cannot fathom why fans who have bemoaned our style of play are advocating for a striker that will continue that same style of lazy one paced football

I agree augie. As I've said before, I think he wants a striker that is not a guaranteed starter, or certainly not one that puts Havertz in the shade. If he gets the likes of Sesko or Nkunku, then he can rotate them with Havertz, without being obliged to start them.
When I say it could very well be embarrassing, is if Gyokeres goes to Chelsea and bangs in 25 league goals for the season, while we are rotating Sesko and Havertz, both of whom struggle to double figures, then Arteta will look like the prat he is.
I've said before that this transfer window is a defining moment and should determine Arteta's future come the season's end....if not before. Well, it would at a proper big club anyway.
