would be delighted and amazed if we got zubimendi, eze and gyokeres .....cannot see that happening thoughaugie wrote: ↑Tue Jun 03, 2025 7:26 pmWasnt there a story going around today suggesting that sociedad want to delay the zubimendi deal until July for accounting reasons ?Tbh I'm not bothered either way - I dont know much about him but 5ft 9" is small for a defensive midfielder in english football (yes I am aware that kante was small too), so I wont be gutted if it collapsed anyway
If I'm honest I have minimal interest in this transfer window - I have zero faith in the cone boy when it comes to identifying players as his track record is no better than average imo, and when I see stories suggesting that sesko is who he wants, then it tells me that he isnt getting any better in the market. For years we were linked with quality players that we knew we wouldnt be signing, but now we are being linked with players like sesko and sane and that is stuff of nightmares for me. We will go into next season with the same disappearing captain in the attacking midfielder role, and that alone will cripple this team regardless of what striker we sign. Tbh I am not expecting much from this window anyway so I'm not losing my shit - I see some Gooners have a hard on for nico williams, but is there any fan out there that thinks that zubimendi, sesko and williams will make this team champions next season ?? In my opinion signing zubimendi, eze and gyokeres would lift this team far more than the cone boy's preferred choices, so where is the optimism for next season meant to come from ? There is all this talk about huge transfer budget and huge talk about bringing in quality players to get us over the hump, and yet our 3 supposed main targets are players from sociedad, leipzig and bilbao - hardly buying from the a la carte menu are we ?

Am I allowed to post a link to a post on X, that seems to be from a private individual, rather than a media account?
I hope so because it’s a blinder and the comments are good.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
With respect, real madrid already valverde, Tchouaméni and camavinga to play that position in their team, and have a piss poor back 4 so you would imagine that their transfer priorities will focus on positions other than the defensive midfielder position. If I am wrong and they go after zubimendi then I would gladly take any one of their existing 3 midfielders that I listed and would be delighted to do so
Personally I think people are panicing a bit much over the zubimendi transfer - imo it will still happen so I'm not worried just cos he hasnt done a medical yet and hasnt been seen at finsbury park tube station.

I think Zubimendi will happen. Lego Head wants him and yes, he’s another Basque. Looks like he’s another recycle it backwards and sideways merchant. Arteta loves that.
Any answers to my question about putting X posts from private individuals on here?

Looks like Zubi has blown us out ( I know what that feels like). Says he's "got other options". Wasn't particularly wanting him anyway but its a sign that Berta is completely uselessaugie wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 3:55 pmWith respect, real madrid already valverde, Tchouaméni and camavinga to play that position in their team, and have a piss poor back 4 so you would imagine that their transfer priorities will focus on positions other than the defensive midfielder position. If Gyokeres goes to United, despite them having no European football, then you must ask why no other major club (WITHEuropean football) went in for him.

Looks like we don’t have any pull whatsoever. None at all.

Well maybe, but you could ask the same question about Sesko. Hardly queueing up for him are they?
If this is how it does pan out, then it will be interesting to see how they both perform in the same league. It will keep a spotlight on Lego Head's decision making.

Is there anything to be said for the club has pull but the manager doesnt, would more and better players come with an actual manager in the bosses seat??Limerick Gooner wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 5:36 pmLooks like we don’t have any pull whatsoever. None at all.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
World class strikers are in extremely short supply... Neither Gyokeres or Sesko are "World Class"... But seem to be the only one's available...
Gyokeres played under Amorim, so I can only assume that if manure are willing to stump the cash (and Amorim is staying) then He will go to them.
Sesko is young with plenty to learn...
Maybe neither of them fancy being Micro-managed within an inch of their lives under Arteta!? Perhaps that's why Zubimendi is having Second Thoughts?
If we had made a move for a Top Striker at the end of last season... we would have stood a better chance of getting whomever we wanted and could afford, because we had a very decent season .... This season has shown us to be poor, to crack under pressure and that Arteta isn't the Manager many were touting him to be.
