Nasri Contract situation

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I don't understand people getting upset when players WANT to leave the club!

Regardless of their ability, if they don't want to wear the shirt then they can fuck off as far as I am concerned!

I would rather languish in mid-table than watch a bunch of club raping mercenaries lled the club dry trying to con us with the occasional badge kiss.

You don't want to play for Arsenal, ok fair fucks off you go and enjoy the Alex Hleb/David Bentley/Jose Reyes experience.

Percy - I agree with your point about players who don't want to wear the shirt. No-one wants to keep unhappy players.

But isn't it the club's job to

a) try to keep them happy to start with
b) if they really are mercenary wankers and a) is not possible, then at least engineer the situation to ensure we get a decent fucking transfer fee.

You've listed players that have gone on and flopped but what about Ashley Cole & Lassana Diarra as two alternatives. Players we could have kept but allowed them to become unhappy. We didn't get anywhere near their market valuation and I would say their success record since they left is a little better than our own......it cuts both ways

It isn't just down to the club to keep the players happy it is also down to the players to keep us happy!

Arsenal have either been fools by not extending contracts when they are running down or they have been put over a barrel by the player knowing that if he goes elsewhere for a reduced fee he can usually command a higher salary.

Greed!

They have engineered the situation with regards to Cesc and got him on a long term contract but all that has done is ensure his market value remains high. The contract actually means fuck all in terms of length of service.

If Nasri wanted to stay at Arsenal he would have signed a new contract by now. I am sure he was offered top money as our wage bill is hardly small is it?

As for Clichy, whether he was offered a new deal who knows but regardless neither of them have shown any real desire to stay at Arsenal and disassociate themselves for any potential transfer.

Quite simply, these *word censored* are all living our dream but are happy to turn their backs on us as soon as they see fit.

Maybe I can see Nasri's point that he wants trophies and so Man Utd makes sense but the clubs Clichy is linked with are hardly world beaters.

Fuck them. Better players have come and gone and Arsenal still remains!

This is the current world of football.

Would these players be wanting to leave if they were winning major trophies?

Would they be leaving if they thought AW's experiment was going to work?

Would they be leaving if they saw big new signings to strengthen the team?

The good players will want to leave and average ones are happy to stay adn ride the gravy train.

Our best players leaving is hardly an advert for us to attract top players. It will be more average and unknown players and more youthful potential.

This could be the start of a slippery slope out of the top 4.

We behave like a small club, and ought to be treated like one.

Nasri isnt the greatest player we have had by a long way, but in a team that does the basics right, I feel that he would be fantastic.

If he goes to the mancs, Im absolutely convinced he would do well there. Just look at ManUtd - out of the blocks quickly to get the players (quickly) that they have identified a while ago, strenghtening their squad. They are not a bankrolled club, but they are a club with ambition. They know that success brings growth - something our manager and board dont understand. Our club is all about buying players on the cheap, improving them, and then selling them for a nice profit. Small club behaviour deserves to be treated like a small club. Our cock of a manager is probably galavanting across French TV while having it off with his little bit on the side.

I dont blame Nasri from wanting to leave. But I do blame the club (and Wenger in particular) for allowing this to happen. Wenger has now got a disjointed squad which cant do much more than play pretty football, 6 years of rot is going to require major change in players. And for the first time in a long time, a team which doesnt have a single player that has a name worth putting on my shirt.

Exactly.

We're allowed to question the direction of the club, but players aren't?

I'm still hopeful he stays, and in the absence of any real proof - I for one will refrain from all this judas nonsense. He's got every right to question whether he should stay or not - it's his career and, as far as I'm aware, he's obeyed the rules of his contract.

We demand loyalty from players, yet many fans turn on players and abuse them with little proof of their wrongdoings... it's twisted.

I dont mind players questioning the direction of the club except in this case where I feel that there are 2 exceptions -

1. He is looking for big money and parity with cesc - if it is about the club's ambition then fine but dont make it about the money as well cos that makes it look that you are willing to sell your beliefs for a few dollars more so it is either about money or ambition.....cant be both imo

2. Nasri should be having a severe look at himself when it comes to why the club is winning fcuk all - he had a great first 3 months to last season but then, as has often proved to be the case since he arrived, he went missing When we needed somebody to step up to the plate in big games he hid and for an experienced international and one of the best players in the team that is just not good enough

Not bothered either way, get rid of all the muppet players who are dragging this great club down.

We are becoming a laughing stock.

Players who talk a good game that do very little to back it up.

I want to see players on the pitch who give a shit about the club and fans, rather than some of the current lot that are treating fans as mugs.

Again so much anger I cant describe if this comes off. Our club is a laughing stock these days, are best players our being stolen for 5m, 10m and 30m. With no sign of replacements or other signings.

Why cant someone buy that *word censored* Wenger?

Clichy is not one of our best players. And why are you getting angry at something that hasn't even happened? How the hell do you know what the price will be? And don't give me that 'I KNOW WHAT WENGER IS LIKE!!!!'

We don't bloody know.

Fuck up you utter mug.

YOU DONT HAVE A FUCKING CLUE WHAT THE PRICE IS EITHER.

I never claimed to know but were being told 10m, and you think thats enough do you, selling him to United?

I'd rather watch Corrie mate then be stuck in a bubble where Wenger does no wrong.

You're a deluded little *word censored*, go flick on some french porn, it clearly turns you on.

 Seriously do you know how to make an arguement without shouting people down.

Rigsby made a valid point about this Nasri situation not even happening yet. By all means call everyone a c**t if we sell Nasri to united for 10 milion but right now you're just reading bbc sport like the rest of us.

Also how come anyone that argues with you is an AKB?

Last point try not to be so offensive you fat c**t and go blow you're load over your dog as you do every day.

You piece of shit. ( in no way am I a hypocrite)
