Absolutely, and it goes to show that when it comes to strikers, you can't just scrape the bottom of the bargain basement.TeeCee wrote:To be fair Augie, Jenks and Gibbo would have played tonight if everyone was fit, but we obviously don't have any good youngsters coming through in the full back areas.
Hopefully the rumors about Podolski are true and Wenger is bullshitting about not getting anyone in January. One thing is for sure, if he doesn't buy a decent.....and I mean decent, not just a 6m Frenchman.....striker in January, we will never get top 4.
If Wenger went out and bagged a fucking decent £20m + striker, we'd have a decent side.
There's a reason Citeh are doing so well. Dzeko - 14 starts, 13 goals. Aguero - 13 starts, 11 goals. Balotelli - 9 starts, 8 goals.
That's what happens when you spend money on strikers - you get one chance, you get one goal, you win the match, you win trophies.
Hmm... I'm not sure giving game time to some young players of the future is any sort of consolation for our hopes of silverware being extinguished even furtheraugie wrote:I might be the only one but I am quite satisfied after tonights game - yes it would have been nice to win but we gave ox, coq frimpong and miguel more game time and all did well for me![]()

Failure is becoming a nasty habit at the Arsenal

How many big cup games have we played well in but ended up losing? - it's become the norm, I'm afraid. I honestly don't think the players believe they'll win any more, either

I'm sure that if you cracked open many of our players, you'd find the words 'failure' written right the way through them just like a stick of rock!

Birmingham in the cup final summed it up for me. We could't beat an egg if there was a trophy at stake! - yet, instead of creating a winning culture by winning ANY trophy, we'd rather rest some big names, leave other perfectly fit and healthy first teamers on the bench, and instead priorities giving game time to youngsters

I feel for Chamster, I liked him when he first came, just can't understand whats happened to him!!
Abit harsh to be so critical of park, early days for him. Frim, coq and Ox are all very promising.
Didn't deserve to lose like that with them only having one shot on target, but the stronger team won in the end.
Shit cup anyway, and Chelsea lost!!

No point crying about money city putting us out, even if we're at home.
Although there is no surprise if chamakh, arshavin and park had poor games.
We've needed a new striker since eduardo departed. It's a massive must.
Arshavin was brought on in the 86th minute ffs and if I was him I would have refused to come on and told wenger to fcuk off - I agree that the man hasnt done it for us and needs to move on but wenger looked at the dog eater and transexual lover do fcuk all and didnt bring on the russian until we had lost the game

Another issue I have with wenger's substitutions tonight.......why change the system when he took off park ? We looked lively with the 4-4-2 system and we had players on the bench to swap straight in for park so no need for system change surely ? Wasnt gervinho a striker for lille before we bought him ? Even if he wasnt we had arshavin on the bench who has been crying out to be played up front in a 4-4-2 formation but by the time he has been brought on we have gone back to wenger's bullshit formation

At full time on the tele it cut back to the players at midfield. Frimpong was being held back from going at nasri with just his sleeveless DEEENCH undershirt on. Nasri was walking away and threw his hand up behind him. Something obviously happened, it's too band Frim didn't bodyslam him though.digger wrote:Rumour on twitter that Nasri threw a punch at Frimpong, then legged it into the away dressing room.

Tough break for him, he was doing well during RVP's absence last November, but since RVP's return he has (with good reason) had nothing but a bench seat. But, you gotta impress when you get your opportunity, that's just the nature of professional sports. The EPL is simply too strong of a league to allow for inconsistency and time for players to find their feet, unless their team is able to carry them until such time. Unfortunately for Arsenal's strikers, our scoring record suggests that our centre-forward has to be firing at all times, because we don't have someone else to rely on to bag goals.QuartzGooner wrote:We played well considering the mish mash of a team we had.
Hard for Chamakh to be sharp without regular game time, but he looks shadow of the player he was this time last year.
Point? Chamakh, gotta get it sorted immediately buddy, or you need to go. Wenger, start looking for a replacement now and this time don't be afraid to spend on a reliable, world class talent... look at the wonders having just one has done (RVP).
Frenchie doesn't have the balls to do it to Frimpong face to face, because he knows EF26 would rip him apart. Should be interesting to see what papa DEEEEENCH has to say on Twitter. At full time on the tele it cut back to the players at midfield. Thought we did alright tbh when you look at that City squad & what it cost. Gave a way a silly counter attack goal from a poor corner but thought we dominated the middle & were just lacking up front. Chamakh is so poor, the guy doesn't even get himself into decent positions & the few chances he does get he fucks up 100% of the time.
Frimpong barging into Nasri straight from the kick off was fucking amazing, loved the abuse that lesbian got
Also a quick note for the City fans. Surely gotta be the worst away fans ever at AG? 6,000 of them & I didn't hear a peep until the 86th minute...

He has played 453 minutes in the premier league for the whole of 2011 - so yes it would be very hard to be match fit etc and look sharp. Won a few decent headers tonight and ran around alot but no end product coz no match practice
