Quite right. Play like that against the Spuds and I can see us losing, and certainly against the Chavs, then this place would be in meltdown, until that blue croc twat comes up. If Bayern needed to win tonight they'd have won it easily.MrT wrote:I'm not seeing how people can be happy with that performance. This was another men against boys situation, we were bossed at every level. Munich didn't really have to turn up.
What is the point of Giroud? The sad thing is we will be stuck with him as our main striker for at least another season while the nutty professor has complete faith in him.

Yes and no - we were playing against a team that is miles ahead of us in every aspect so we didn't really expect much I suppose. Also cant agree that none of our big names turned up - our back 4 were immense for starters

You are of course 100% correct when you refer to a lack of bottle - our players like to talk a big game but rarely show it on the pitch

Re: The coup de grace in Munich
We went into a last 16 tie against the best team in Europe, and our striking options were Giroud and Sanogo, how the fuck could we ever possibly win. With a proper striker, we would have caused them real problems, but with that delusional prick in charge, we will continue to persist with average players, who will never be good enough, and we will continue to fail

Re: The coup de grace in Munich
Btw Diego Costa just fired Atletico Madrid to the quarters. He's the dog's bollocks and we should do whatever it takes to get him. Watching Giroud today in comparison made me want to cry.
Re: The coup de grace in Munich
I just don't understand how seasoned players like Ozil, Cazorla, Rosicky, Arteta just suddenly forget how to play the simplest of passes. It's really fucking strange. We are supposedly praised for our passing game but why could we not string 3 passes together and keep giving the ball away? I understand it's against arguably the best team in the world but ffs pass the ball to a team mate, it's not that hard.
Like I said, it's down to bottle and mentality. If they don't get it from the manager then they never will, which is why they look and will continue to look lost against the big sides.
Yes I know deep down we weren't going to win but stranger things have happened if you do the simple things right like keeping possession for more than 2 seconds.

Re: The coup de grace in Munich
Was Ozil a big game player at Madrid? - he seems to disappear every time things get difficult.
Anyway, pleased with the way we played. Defence + Flappy did well, Chamberlain did fantastic and a few of the others did alright too.
It's a real shame we don't have a quicker striker because we have no outlet. Our only option is to pass our way forward and are totally incapable of hitting teams on the break. It's a huge handicap as teams can push forwards knowing they aren't going to get caught short.
Anyway, tonight was always a long shot and I'm just pleased we didn't get humiliated. I think this week can be spun positively so not to shake the confidence of the team going into a run of difficult fixtures.
If you'd offered me a choice of knocking out Everton (FA Cup) with a relatively easy semi and [potential] final in our path or beat Bayern (CL) I'd have gone for the FA Cup because it's a trophy we can win, so I remain upbeat this week

Re: The coup de grace in Munich
As much as it's a boring pastime to slag the team off willy-nilly after every defeat, I don't think we played that badly and Bayern didn't play that well.
JH is wrong they didn't have us well beaten, when we scored and had a couple of good chances the stadium went deathly quiet which is usually an indication that the home team aren't having things all their own way. The damage was done when Higuain turne Kos back in December and when the ref sent off Ches granted he was naïve the way he came out.
This threa could spend the next 4 days analyzing what went wrong but we already know that let's just keep fingers crossed the Ox and Ozil are only minor knocks as the vermin are there for the taking. The best chance to double those
since 07/08. If the spammers can do it, so can we. To beat them 3 times in a season will put them in their f**king place FINALLY

He has a 35m buyout clause. We got Ozil for 42m. We can get him if we don't faff around and let the chavs et al steal a march on us.

yup 4-1, 5-1 on Aggregate against Milan . not bad for a team outside the top two in a 'mickey mouse' league1989 wrote:Btw Diego Costa just fired Atletico Madrid to the quarters. He's the dog's bollocks and we should do whatever it takes to get him. .

I imagine United will out bid us if the ditherer is still here. They are assembling quite a shopping list - Casillas, TV, Vertonghen, Kroos and Costa.
