Agree, we seem to have a blind spot when it comes to decent keepersPI7ES wrote:Hate to say it but mannone like fabianski are worse than almunia. We need to sign a keeper, i like that begovic at pompy. 3mil and he is ours but that would disrupt mannone's potential.kingjayson1 wrote:We've got the Best keeper in the league, none of you know what your talking about. TO AND FOR THE WRONG TEAM
Please Wenger, put Mannone back in for the rest of the season. Theres nothing to lose.

Refrained from posting until now. Went straight back to bed afterwards and now up again...for a few seconds after getting up I'd forgotten about it - then it hit me.
Struck me during the game that the most important differences between the sides were these:
- They have a goalkeeper, we don't.
- They have a top quality striker/finisher, we don't.
A barrel of shit would be just as good in goals as Manuel, and a good a player as he can be, Arshavin shouldn't have to play up front alone, ever. Injuries aren't to blame for that - its a fundamental flaw in the squad.

While we have wankers like Almunia and Denilson playing for us we will never win the league. Clichy was awful today but then the whole team were shite, we made a mediocre united side look like the worlds best team!!!!!
Surely a performance like this makes Wenger open his fucking eyes and buy someone or 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Probably not
The only upside of the day was i met up with Frank and his mate for a drink and also met my new best mate Sami
he does actually seems like a nice lad

Its pretty simple really, ship out at least 8 players and bring in new ones that can handle the pl, its that desperate that we missed diaby today
This is a piss poor side when compared to The Arsenal sides over the last 10 years.
Fuck waxing lyrical when we beat bolton, wolves etc, truth is when we play teams at the business end we are well short, after 3 minutes of todays game i told my brother we are gonna get spanked it was that fucking obvious, men against boys, outplayed in every department agianst a patched up manure side.
If wenger cant see it then unfortunately it is time to consign a legend to the past.
A sad day indeed.

Ok heres my reflection on todays game. Firstly, i was actually shocked to see Denilson in the starting line up, as he was poor at Villa. A few early scares i would hope would have woke us up. The first goal came, now, the commentators seemed to bang on about how good the skill was, but if you look from a defensive point of view, it terrible. Clichy and Nasri should no way be letting him past, show him line at the very least, the effort to get back once they were beaten was poor aswell, Denilson was put on his back side, and then Almunia, god only knows what he was doing.
The second goal, caught on the break, this goal showed the difference in the two teams in my eyes. Rooney gets the ball pretty much on his own area, spreads it to Nani and gets on his bike, his determination to get in the box, along with Park was great, where as Denilson, Gallas and Clichy were trotting back.
The third goal, why we were caught out again i'll never know, Clichy has to go across, make Park pass it across, to give the defenders a chance to get back, but he didnt, and park finished. Almunia beaten at his near post yet again.
Another thing i will point out, in terms of chances, i think we had some decent ones, but thats what the difference is between good teams and great teams, at half time we could easily been 2 or 3 up. Its about being clinical infront of goal. Chelsea away now has turned into a must win game.

Positives:
CB pairing made the odd good tackle
Sagna shielded his flank well enough
We looked good in last ten and first 20 minutes
We scored
Rosicky looked good
Cesc had a strong first half
Best I can manage even after a few hours.
That was poor, quite simply poor from too many players. Almunia failed to organize, impose or even save things (drop him please Wenger), Clichy was torn apart by Nani, we did ok going forward in midfield but didn't defend well enough. We lost our way as the game went on
Two things really angered me though
1) Arshavin in first 20 minutes. Several times he skipped down the left, had Nasri and Cesc arriving unmarked in the box for a simple pullback to leave them an easy finish...he went and shot. We could have been 2 of 3 goals up had he elected to pass rather then be greedy.
2) The 2nd and 3rd goals. The first wasn't too happy about but those two were the problems we have had for a few months. We throw players forward and leave gaps in behind, we should never have been left with only one player back yet we were twice. If some of the back 4 plus two dm's push forward, there should still be at least three back to buy time. Not 1

That was quite simply, pitiful. And pathetic. And humiliating.
Yet again when the moment arrives to establish ourselves, we freeze.
Special mention to Almunia who's comical moment for the first goal set the tone when we were otherwise making ground. What TV and Billy think playing in front of him, i wonder. At the point where he kicked it straight to Nani (i think?) in the box, I prayed he's seen his last game in an arsenal shirt. The man is 31, will never be an international keeper and Wenger simply has to get over his sentimentality that he refused to show the likes of Lehmann, Pires and Gilberto and get him the fuck out of the Arsenal jersey.
Denilson - absolutely dire once more. Why he hangs onto his place while Ramsey doesn't get to start, i don't know. But here i blame Wenger. Denilson is a kid - if you're going to throw these young players into high pressure games that they're not ready for, you're risking harming their confidence beyond repair. It was that close to being another E-booooo-ue moment and that is going to kill a player much more than selecting another player in front of him for the biggest game of the season.
The only players who even come out with a little bit of credit are Billy, Vermaelen and Song. Kept trying when everyone else's heads went down. If Bendtner is the reason we arent buying a striker why not start him?! No RVP, no Eduardo, and our great shining hope for the season doesn't even start.
Clichy, Sagna (to a lesser extent) and Denilson backed off their players time and again and just watched them run past. I know Clichy can do better and has been out so will give him the benefit of the doubt. After all, the only option is Traore.
Anyway, I'm so angry by our attitude today, by Wenger's blind spot for Denilson and Almunia and refusal to tweak his team a tiny bit in order to press on. I can't help feeling the Stoke selection has backfired like 2008 and stopped the momentum we had going on, not least our chance of actually winning a trophy. Can only hope the need to strengthen was hammered home after today.
The fact is that was one of the weakest united side's to play us and we had, apart from RVP, our best 11. We made them look world class.
