Braga away

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It's the same thing. It's all reaction to the Braga game. Should we have a thread for every conotation of possible results from this group? Nothing personal but we really don't need thirty threads originating from people's feelings from this game. There is this thread for all this stuff.

Deise Gooner wrote: Yeah we were shit, we were playing away from home with a reserve team almost and never kicked into second gear. The players played for the draw we were never going to go there and go all out attack over in Braga. All im saying is if the penalty is given and we score, Wengers decision is deemed to be a good one coming away with a 1-0 win and through to the next round.
a reserve team? you really are a gormless dullard aren't you.
How many of those starting tonight are our strongest 11?

Fabianski
Cesc
Wilshere

So therefore its a reserve team. Look im as sick as everyone else at the lack of effort that this team shows but Wenger took a decision tonight that he has on numerous other occasions in Europe when we are away from home and on this occasion it didnt work out.
It's not a reserve team at all. These people like Squillaci, Denilson, Eboue, Bendtner, Walcott, Rosicky, they're first team players. Supposedly they're good enough to be able to go and win games against shit teams like braga.

There are NO excuses. This team was strong enough to beat braga and we fucked it up big time.
Denilson, Eboue and Rosicky? How many times on here have those players been labelled shit and not upto Arsenal quality numerous times on this board. Should RVP and Arshavin been taken and started the game? Yeah they should have been, start our strongest team and take them off when we have the game in the bag. All im saying is if the penalty goes our way nobody on here is calling for Wengers head. He does have to take blame for making the wrong decision but im just stating that simple fact.
I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, I think Denilson is shyte, but at the end of the day wenger says that he's good enough for arsenal despite years of the same old rubbish from him and others on the pitch.

Even if we'd scored the penalty it would have been a woeful performance. You live and die by the sword unfortunately and this one didn't go for wenger. That's football.

It was about our future path in the champions league and what our priorities should now be this season. Hardly appropriate for the match thread, which correct me if im wrong, is intended for analysis of the 90 minutes of football we just endured?

Im talking about after the game tonight. Its clear he's lost it no doubt. The fact that he hasnt bought a decent goalie since Jens left or hasnt bolstered the defence when every man and their dog know the defense is awful just goes to show how stubborn he is in his refusal to go out and spend money. Im not a Wengerite by any stretch but the penalty was a turning point in the game.

Match threads are initially about the game and analysis but on an "ocasion" like this one we ask people to keep all their related stuff on the same thread otherwise this place becomes a nightmare for people to surf. By tomorrow the urge for people to post a thread on every thought they have had about the match and its repercussions will have passed and we are looser about what threads get left unlocked. But if we don't nip in the bud now it just gets ridiculous.
