You're right Augie, I look back to the start of this forum it's like a different world a different time and the esteem that AW was held in so I looked to find when I finally started to seriously doubt whether we would ever win another title under AW and I came across this one I know it's Flash's post from March 2011 but at the time it summed up exactly how I felt

I am open minded about everything at the club, i have considered the board situation and the opinion ive come up with is largely Wenger is to blame. Arsene Wenger will go down as the greatest manager this club has ever had (and i remember times before him) and its taken a lot for me to come to the conclusion he is well off the mark with his project and collection of weak minded players some of whom arent up to required standard ability either. I think its you who is close minded about any other possibilty

A short few years ago i would have defended Wenger to anyone but with everything considered i have come to the conclusion it has now gone stale at Arsenal, you can be somewhere too long. Wenger is now the 21st century Brian Clough and although we wont be relegated like Forest we wont hit the heights we once did like Forest.

We need a breath of fresh air at the club, the sooner the better

Before I say anything else can I just make clear that I'm not an AKB but admittedly maybe a rosetinter I think I know what he's trying achieve, I think we all do maybe I'm just more patient than most altho I'm not usually known for my patience there's no doubt he's made mistakes that have cost us (both as fans and as a club) dearly and some such as Augie, sorry mate, but you are the original have been on his back for years, I posted on a thread ages ago about it being obvious the balance of the team was unsuited to the current nature of the English game either thru lack of an English core identity, quality, character or just plain old physical strength or more likely a combination of all four!

So I'll readily agree that most of my posts have been in defence of AW but the tide started turning for me 5yrs ago but I try to still base my opinions on reason and not let hatred of the man colour everything!

Yep, me too. In fact, it's the only thing I'm actually looking forward to this season. I reckon the following managers are better than Wanker and will all beat him at least once: Maureen, Pep, Klopp, Conte, Koeman and Bilic. That's already between six and 12 defeats and then you add on the usual bollox at Stoke and the Swamp, plus the regular terrible performances at places like West Brom, Middlesbrough, Southampton and Swansea after a European game and I reckon we're going to be way off the pace. I've got a feeling we're going to be looking at 7th or 8th by the end of the season.

I think they should make Arsene Wenger Captain - Welll why not!? He's in charge of every other fucking part and aspect of our Once Proud and Wonderful Club.

Well that the very reason why Wenger appoints such quiet, timid captains. He de-values the position to the extent that there really is no captain that could pissibly influence players or challenge him live Vieira.

Thank you Augie for the welcome and for being gentle with me it's hard to come on here sometimes mainly because the club is stale at the moment and so it is with the debates and being very much in the minority I don't have time to debate with half the board every time I post.

When I say that I'm in the minority that does not mean that I'm pro Wenger I've had many debates with my pro AW bestie, some of them pretty heated purely down to the subject matter, so I do understand why the forum is as it is, but because nearly all the board members have come to absolutely detest AW it stifles any real balanced debate and makes the forum an unpleasant one as peeps come on here mostly to vent and take out their frustrations on other members!

Belfast has been on this forum since the beginning, he's a top bloke and entitled to his opinions. He's a moderator who used to be a regular poster but, like myself and Quartz, have posted far less in recent times for the very reasons Belfast describes above.

But regardless of what you think of Belfast and his post count, is a polite response really that difficult? - it's that unpleasant, arrogant tone to the forum that has seen it drift away from what it used to be.

Well said, g88ner and BB. In the old days this place was fun. It was like your local where you could talk football, Arsenal, tits and shit with your mates. It has degenerated over the last few years into a place reeking with whiny bitching, arrogance and self entitlement. We have lost so many genuinely funny entertaining and intelligent posters because of this. We have a couple of posters whose main contribution on here seems to be shit stirring and/or mod-baiting ffs. It's time for a few people to cop on and grow up.

Ever stop to think that this and other Arsenal forums and indeed the Emirates can be so pessimistic and gloomy because of the never ending cycle we are in because of Wenger. Not because of the people who post here.

The Arsenal has given me some of the best days of my life. But also.....
Ive been spat on, slapped abused and almost arrested because of the Arsenal. Sometime I get a little impatient with those who were part of the problem only now seeing the light.

As for the twatter guy; was the ban for just criticising Arsenal or Wenger? Can you prove that? Was it for racist comments? Who actually knows - outside of the the guy and the club? What I'm saying is if it was because he is associating himself publicly as a Gooner and posting racist shite on the internet then I am fucking delighted the cúnt got banned by the club, no matter what his opinions are of Wenger.
