The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I don't believe that we would sign a top tier full back and I dont want us to sign aurier (or any African player for that matter), so I believe that it is preferable to sign a player that is used to the premier league and wont need an adjustment period.
I have to add that the rumours of jenkinson being included in the deal baffle me - if he was allowed to leave (on loan or a permanent deal) then we are still in a position that we only have right back and I would have thought that it is highly unlikely that we would sign 2 right backs this window but of course with le cock you never know
GREAT!! I'll get me Axe

You say the meanest things

Was partial to a bit of Anke Huber in the old days. The only one in the last decade that's got me going was and still is Anna Pornikova.

Honestly I give this forum a swerve for a few hrs expecting to come back and see pictures of a young Chilean in a pair of short shorts and an Arsenal top....WTF, where he at.. :?

Unless he was let go but given that he has put some pressure on Hart last two seasons I'm not sure that's the case.

Also at what point does Hart stop being a great young keeper who makes a few mistakes and start being an unreliable player with the ability to pull off the odd magnificent save? In the World Cup he looked so fucking jumpy, his concentration and handling are alarming at times. He hasn't turned himself round as he should have.

Argued last season that hart is woefully over-rated and very few agreed with me - you would think that he has everything needed to be a top keeper but for me he hasnt progressed and you have to wonder why. It goes without saying that the media culture in england annoints young players as superstars before they have achieved anything in the game so that, along with the ridiculous wages, probably allows these players to rest on their laurels when they should be developing. I like the recent practice of loaning young english players to foreign clubs - imo they need to be taught a higher level of professionalism then they would see in english clubs plus they should be taught to be more flexible in their play which isnt what happens in the prem league

Even as I was typing it I realised how uninteresting it was but it's less effort to respond to smarmy bastards like you than to go back and edit on my shit phone

Am not a WUM, just sick of the usual shite about slagging off Wenger.
No perspective, no reasoned thinking....let's just go along with the vocal minority and slag off Wenger at every opportunity.

FFS he was criticised for spending so much time in Brazil....during a major football tournament.....??!???!!??
There is a lot of reasoned argument on here especially as Steveo's having a day off.

Just skim read.it's easy to spot the posts that are about ACTUAL transfers.

Failing that take your own advice and give this thread a miss till August 31st.

I warn you though if the 3stogees f**k up this window and we end up with sh*te like Kalou then you might still want to give it a miss as amidst all the shots of the luscious Natalie's funboys, there Will also be language aimed at the 3 tw*ts that would make Roy 'chubby' Brown blush.

I've been shooting my mouth off all summer that we will buy big......following on from Ozil, I expect three key signings.

Debuchy is a good start.

Sanchez and Bender would be excellent signings.

If we do sign the likes of Kalou and Milner, then I will be slaughtered not only on here..

Haha I think this may actually happen...Do you do a forefit for every "Sanchez isn't coming" if he does? :D
