As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I've said for a while now that we have a selfish fanbase who feel their view is above what's best for the team.
It seems obvious that if Ade stays we should try and start afresh, but I said that last summer too yet thousands couldn't resist booing Ade from the word go!
Will next season be any different?? I doubt it. It's clear from this forum that many people won't give him a chance, or make him feel welcome, and will continue to get on his back.... even if it's to the detriment of the team, and I find that quite sad but it's inevitable. For that reason, amongst others, I hope Ade is sold or the Grove will continue to be a negative environment for the players to play in.

my thoughts too.
But it seems like not too many clubs are interested at the moment. Selling him for much under 25 million would be a mistake.
Dont agree.Who is going to pay £25m on his performances last season?I would take £15m to get him out of the club.He is a bad apple who if he stays will cause the same problems as last season. He wanted a move last summer and he played all last season like he didnt want to be there. What has changed?

I too would rather see him sold, but if he does stay I'd be willing to give him another chance.
We can't go into next season bearing a grudge against players, I think if only for our own sake we have to allow him to start at zero again. If that means we get back the Adebayor of 07/08 then fair enough, a player like that is always needed. I don't even want to think about getting last seasons Adebayor back.
Booing or slagging him off after each little mistake won't help him and much more importantly it won't help the team and the club.

Maybe "thousands" didn't read your words of wisdom...
I think it would be less of an issue next season to be honest.
People were very edgy at the start of last season. Losing Flamini and Hleb and the Adebayor drama coupled with only one player (Nasri) + Silvestre, Bischoff and Ramsey coming in meant that Adebayor was always going to get a rough ride.
If we can do good business on the transfer market this summer and not lose any of our first team regulars (and the signs for both things happening are very encouraging at the moment) there will be an entirely different mood in the stadium.
I am very optimistic about next season. Can believe we have to wait another 2 fucking months for the season to start.
Let's get this straight about the greedy Adebayor.
I think we would all agree that when he first arrived that he was raw but obviously had talent. When Henry went he saw his chance to shine and had a good season. However, after that his attitude changed.
He has lied to the club and it's supporters. His work rate and body language is that off someone who does not want to be here and we had to put up with that badge kissing nonsense that was supposed to win us over.
The player has shown no loyalty to the club that gave him a huge break and on the strength of one good season in terms of goalscoring (when it has to be said chances galore were put on his plate......and often spurned) he believes he can hold our club to ramsom.
My only disappointment is that he was not sold last summer for the maximum price anyone could ever command for him. As much as I knock Bendtner, I would have preferred him to have played this season, learning his trade and growing with the team instead of Adebayor strolling around arrogantly like he is Togo's Mr Bertie Big Bollocks!
Adebayor could have been very good for Arsenal in the same way that Arsenal have been very good for him. To me though he will be Africa's version of Paulo Wanchope.......plenty of raw ability that is flattened however by his over-inflated ego.
When he goes the *word censored* will probably ask for the 25 shirt to be rested in honour of him!
The first couple of months will define our season and that of the out of favour players, now even more so given the difficult start we have been given.
So booing anybody would be a very bad idea indeed.
Adebayor demanded extra money to reflect his (elevated) status then didn't put his ability where we put the money.
His piss-poor effort in the semi-final away to man u made me sick. If you cannot raise yourself, even if it's just for yourself and your teammates, for a game like this then what else is there?
I would rather he went to Milan and we recruited Benzema. A genuinely talented young French player who could only blossom under Wenger.

Thought he'd rested it for most of last season anyway
Arsenal offer Emmanuel Adebayor to AC and Inter Milan to fend off Chelsea - Exclusive
[quote]Emmanuel Adebayor has been offered to AC and Inter Milan – to stop him from being sold to Chelsea.
Arsenal are determined to auction off Adebayor this summer and have hired agents to try to strike a £25million deal.
But Gunners boss Arsene Wenger fears that the Milan giants have lost interest in the 25-year-old after his disappointing season. That could leave Chelsea in the driving seat as Adebayor’s agent yesterday admitted that the Togo striker would relish the chance of working with Carlo Ancelotti.
But Arsenal do not want to sell to their Premier League rivals, who will kick off the season under their new Italian boss.
Wenger has already lined up Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh as Adebayor’s replacement. Arsenal have got an £8m deal in place for 25-year-old Chamakh as soon as Adebayor goes.
A big deal for Adebayor will also free up cash to sign Fiorentina’s Brazil midfielder Felipe Melo. Wenger has also tracked Udinese’s Gokhan Inler for the past 18 months.
Ancelotti was boss of AC Milan when both they and Barcelona bid in excess of £25m for the Arsenal striker last summer.
But his subsequent poor form and perceived bad attitude has put off potential buyers. Adebayor’s agent Stephane Courbis said: “There has been no meeting with Milan for Adebayor and I’ve not received any telephone calls from them recently.
“I don’t know whether he is for sale. I spoke to Wenger this morning and he didn’t say anything to that effect.
“I’ve not spoken about the alleged interest from Chelsea or Manchester United. But Adebayor would like to work with Ancelotti because Milan tried to acquire him last summer.â€

Eczema has an even bigger ego than Adebayor imo.
Thankfully his price will prevent us from ever signing him.
But he is a much better striker.
I´m not worried about a players ego. Henry, Pires, Vieira had big ego as well.
But you are right. He´s too expensive, we´ll never sign him.
